Calling all producers worldwide! Do you have a hot beat? Well it’s time we helped you get heard! As of last week Battleofbeats.com and Alpha-n-Omega Magazine are collaborating on this year’s Battle of the Beats competition. Producers nationwide are asked to participate in this year’s competition. This year’s competition is split into two brackets, Alpha and Omega which will be broken down into sub brackets. (Am I confusing you yet?) The Alpha bracket will contain Eastern and Western sub-brackets where sixteen finalists will be chosen. But don’t worry because if you aren’t chosen for the Alpha bracket the Omega bracket will contain two sub-brackets for producers whose beat didn’t make the main competition. So you got two chances to win something!
The judges for this contest will be CHOPS (Mountain Brothers), Spy Tech’s DJ Cheapshot, Dutch Massive of Equilibrium and Alpha-n-Omega staff and an internet voting system. The Alpha Bracket winner will receive: a cash prize, a prize package from OM Records, personal interview with www.alphabeats.com, an article in 21C Magazine, free entry to All Battle of the Beats tournaments, sound packages from www.soundsforsamplesr.com and www.banginbeats.com and a prize pack from Third Earth Music and more as-yet unnamed prizes. The Omega Bracket winner will receive promotional items from the sponsors.
The deadline for all submittals will be Wednesday August 28, 2002. There is a twenty-dollar registration fee to enter this contest. You can send your beat in on a minidisk, tape, cd, MP3 or dat. For all rules and registration information log onto: www.battleofthebeats.com or www.alphabeats.com or email anomag@aol.com. Good Luck and holla at ya girl if a member of hiphopdx fam win so we can shout you out.
