With his second album “Nellyville” still riding high on the charts, fans can expect Cornell Haynes Jr. also known as Nelly to continue the success that he is receiving. Nelly will be starring in his own comedy show sponsored by the Paramount Network Television. Claude Brooks’ Paramount-based C to the B Prods (produced the Lyricist Lounge Show) has plans to produce the comedy sitcom, although the deal has not been finalized. Nelly sophomore album produced sales of 700,000 copies during its first week of release.
Nelly’s representing agency is ICM with Jesse Mass and Tony Davis serving as his managers. Nelly has been nominated for MTV Video Music Awards for Best Male Video for “Number 1” off the Training Day Soundtrack, Best Group Video for his cameo on NSYNC’s hit song “Girlfriend” (remix). Although his first single from his second album “Hot In Herre” is still one of the most requested songs on radio stations nationwide, Nelly is in talk with Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland to do a video for his second single “Dilemma”.
