GloRilla has found herself defending a new job position she opened up after critics slammed her for what they deemed a low salary.
On Wednesday (December 14), the Memphis rap star took to her Instagram Live to address all the commotion over the $550-a-week pay rate for the new personal assistant position on her team. Big Glo posted the job listing earlier this week with responsibilities that include managing the rapper’s calendar, organizing meals, booking travel and more.

Big Glo wasted no time clearing the air on her live stream as she explained what the expectations of the job were and made note that certain expenses are covered along with the salary.
“Let me tell you muthafuckers something, talking about $550 is too little. Bitch, it really need to be $500 — nah, I’m just playing,” Glo said. “First of all, your flights get paid for, your flights and your travel. If you want a higher pay, then pay for your own flights and your own travel and see how much them 500-dollar-ass flight tickets be … I take flights every day.”
GloRilla continued to say those who think she’s going to give someone over $1,200 a week and pay for their flights on top of paying for her own travel are outrageous.
She continued to speak on the job responsibilities by saying: “Half the shit on that list you don’t gotta do for real. It’s just, if it comes down to it you might have to do it. But it’s literally the easiest shit in the world. You really don’t gotta do shit but be with me every day.”

Comedian Lil Duval chimed in on the topic and couldn’t believe people were getting upset over the pay rate. According to Duval, people are asking for top dollar for a job that’s basically an entry-level position.
“Folks really saying $550 a week to be glorilla assistant ain’t enough. Y’all poasses want ceo salary for an entry level position,” he tweeted. “Majority of the people y’all look up to started as an assistant and didn’t make nothing.”
Duval continued: “If u can’t afford to work for free for some years then the entertainment business is not what u wanna be in go to school or learn or trade.”
With all the success and praise GloRilla has received lately, it makes sense that she now needs a personal assistant. Last month, she received her first Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Performance category for her hit single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).”
If that weren’t big enough for the newcomer, she’s been nominated in three categories at the 2022 HipHopDX Awards, including Best New Rapper, Best Hip Hop Song and Best Hip Hop Collaboration.
