Eve & Larry King Discuss Female Rappers Going To Jail

Eve took the time to speak with Larry King on Larry King Now about her role in Barbershop: The Next Cuther upcoming album and what it’s like working in the male-dominated music industry.

Larry King asks a question submitted by HipHopDX which asked the rapper about the lack of promotion female rappers have received since the 2000s compared to the amount of female emcees that have been locked up.

“Looking back, Remy Ma went to jail, Lil Kim went to jail, Da Brat went to jail, Foxy Brown went to jail, Lauryn Hill eventually went to jail,” Larry King asks. “Why are they all going to jail?”

“I don’t know,” Eve says. “Shit happens. I don’t even really know what else to say. I don’t know. I’m glad they’re all out of jail.”

Eve says she’s back to being inspired and is working on an album as the follow-up to her 2013 release of Lip Lock. The Philly actress is also back as Terri Jones on the latest Barbershop franchise installment, Barbershop: The Next Cut which made its debut in theaters on Friday (April 15).
