“It’s not a lot of respect on being a rapper right now,” Benny expressed. “Rap gave me a lot. I should be able to say that loud and proud but people try to hate on that.

“A lot of these podcasts, influencers, a lot of these characters, they criticize rap. They got whole platforms to criticize rap in a bad way.

“Rap is this, rap is that, shitting on a rapper. I hate that because we are almost the bar for how people live their lives. You’ll hear somebody say, ‘I’m richer than rappers.'”

When it comes to riches, Benny The Butcher questioned why people compare themselves to rappers rather than athletes when sports players’ salaries are public information while rappers’ aren’t.

“Like what you gotta be richer than a rapper for? Every rapper ain’t rich, I’m here to tell you. Be richer than every person that went No. 1 in the NFL draft,” he added.

“People want to compare themselves to rappers so bad. They love us so much they hate us. They can’t stand this shit. A lot of times, the critique comes from people who want to do this.”

Meek Mill recently distanced himself from the rapper label after hearing Kodak Black defend working with 6ix9ine after he cooperated with authorities.
