Alicia Keys has become the second singer confirmed to play an integral role in TakeOff‘s sold-out public memorial service in Atlanta this week.
According to TMZ, Alicia Keys is set to perform at the memorial, which is scheduled for Friday (November 11) at State Farm Arena. There are no specifics as to what she may be singing nor how much of the funeral program she will be participating in.

While the details about TakeOff’s memorial service remain scarce, Justin Bieber has also been confirmed to perform at the solemn event. The Canadian-singer — whose ties to the city of Atlanta date back to the earliest days of his career — collaborated with the Migos on 2014’s “Looking For You,” as well as the trio’s Culture III track “What You See.”
Alicia Keys, on the other hand, never had the opportunity to record with the slain artist ahead of his death in the early hours on November 1. She was, however, among the many celebrities who took to social media to express their grief upon learning TakeOff had been killed.

While his family and close friends held a private candlelight vigil in Atlanta over the weekend, plans for a larger public celebration of life were announced on Monday (November 7).
Free tickets to attend the memorial service at State Farm — which holds 20,000 — were made available via Ticketmaster to Georgia residents only.

According to Atlanta radio station V-103, the funeral will be officiated by Reverend Jesse Curney III of New Mercies Christian Church, which counted the late Migos rapper and his family among its congregation.
“I was really sad to hear the news,” Reverend Curney said in a statement. “Kirshnik has been a faithful member since he was ten years old. He and his family were active and avid supporters of the church and the community as a whole.”
Tributes have been pouring in from across the Hip Hop community since the world woke to the news of TakeOff’s death last week. Authorities say they were notified around 2:30 a.m. of an altercation the 810 Billiards and Bowling in downtown Houston.
TakeOff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was among a group of people — which also included his uncle and Migos groupmate Quavo — watching a dice game when an altercation broke out and shots were fired.

The 28-year-old died of gunshot wounds to the head and torso, the Houston Coroner’s Office concluded in its autopsy report. Two other individuals were injured and transported to an area hospital, including Quavo’s assistant Joshua “Wash” Washington.
While Quality Control Music and the label’s co-founder Coach K each issued statements in regards to TakeOff’s tragic death, Quavo has yet to publicly comment on the loss of his nephew, with whom he recently released Only Built For Infinity Links, their debut project as the duo Unc & Phew.

Offset, who had been at odds with his cousins and Migos groupmates over the past few months, reacted to the shocking news by changing his social media profile pic to a photo of Takeoff.
On Wednesday morning (November 2), a mural appeared along the Atlanta BeltLine as a tribute to the fallen hometown hero. TakeOff released his one and only solo project in the form of his debut effort The Last Rocket just over four years ago in November of 2018.
