50 Cent Vouches For Troy Ave Regarding Concert Shooting

50 Cent has supported Troy Ave, his fellow New York rapper, throughout the bulk of his career. He appeared on the Major Without a Deal cut “Bang Bang” and shrugged off those who claimed the two rappers had similar styles.

The G-Unit general commented today (May 31) on Troy Ave’s involvement in a concert shooting at Irving Plaza Wednesday (May 25) and says that he supports Troy Ave, who is claiming he acted in self-defense when he fired a gun around a green room.

“Self Defense thats more like it now,” 50 writes for the caption of Troy Ave being escorted in a wheelchair. “Hold ya head TROY. See how the story change.”

50 Cent also posted a video of his song with Troy Ave, “Bang Bang” to show his solidarity.

In the aftermath of a concert shooting at Irving Plaza, Troy Ave is in jail on charges of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Three people, including the BSB rapper were injured and Ave’s bodyguard was killed in the incident.

During his court appearance, attorneys for the 33-year-old rapper said their client acted in self defense. They denounce a surveillance video that the prosecution was using to build its case, which seemingly shows Ave firing a gun in a VIP green room area. The lawyers say that the video does not tell the full story of the shooting and that Ave did not shoot himself or his friend.

    1. He didn’t vouch for him. He encouraged him to keep his head up. Stop writing shitty articles Victoria! This is borderline slander!

    2. “Those who know don’t talk, and those who talk don’t know a thing.” -Nasir Jones, “God Love Us” #B$B

    3. As of 2hrs ago in NY daily news the gun Troy used, along with other guns, were found in hidden compartment in Troy’s van. Ballistics matched 5 bullets found at the scene and in Banga. Last bullet in girl’s leg cannot be tested. Troy kept the gun because it was his. Goodnight!

    4. These bloggers w/ badges r funny. All worked up over this case that’s already falling apart. If I picked up a gun that was already fired & decided to shoot back in self-defense, I’m not throwing it back on the ground with my prints all over it. It’s coming with me.

    5. NYPD playing games as usual. If they would release the entire video then we’d all have better idea of what happened. but they won’t bcz they dont have the evidence beyond reasonable doubt to convict Troy so they just trying to make him look guilty.

    6. He has not supported Troy Ave for the bulk of his career. That information is incorrect. Please do better fact checking. It took 50 awhile to do something with Troy.

    7. At the very least; he’s getting hit with the gun charge, regardless of whatever the circumstances may be.

And 50 posting a video for a song titled Bang Bang in support of someone facing weapons and attempted murder? Really?

    8. Victoria just making shit up as usual! Two sentences written by 50 turns in to an article into 50 vouching for him?? Not what he is doing…. then just finish the last half of the article with recylcled shit we have already heard! Brilliant reporting Victoria you know sooooo much about hip hop hahaha! hiphopdx really, do yourselfs a favour and get rid of her……

    9. troy ave guilty, gonna do shyne time for acting like a fool…good riddance.

    10. Is it just me or is anyone else semi shocked that Troy Ave is 33 years old doing these things. How can you be that much older than the majority of these rap acts and behave the way you do?
I guess the saying is true you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

    11. Hate it or love it this nigga 50 will remain street as long as he has breath in his lungs….SALUTE

    12. Fuck 50 his word aint good for shit on the streets and self defense my ass this video will tell all
