Michael Jackson’s Xscape Debuts At #2
Michael Jackson’s Xscape came in at #2 this week, only behind The Black Keys’ Turn Blue. Jackson’s new project earned the singer 157,258 copies sold in its first week. The singer’s name recently made headlines because of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, where a hologram of Jackson was featured in a rendition of “Slave to the Rhythm.” Jackson’s hologram was also featured in a Billboard list of 5 “Awesome Holograms,” along with Tupac Shakur and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Beyond Xscape, Jackson’s Number Ones effort also appeared in the Top 30 this week. The project sold 9,441 copies this week to come in at #28. Overall, Number Ones has sold 5,041,033 copies.
Pharrell’s G I R L Falls To #13
In its eleventh week, Pharrell’s G I R L has landed in the #13 spot. The project sold 15,573 copies this week, a 36 percent decrease from the 24,449 units the effort sold last week. This drop follows a 13 percent increase last week, when the collection managed to be at the #6 slot. Overall, Pharrell has sold 387,195 copies of G I R L, a project that earned a 3.5 out of 5 in its HipHopDX review.
Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic Is in Top 15
Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic finds itself in the #14 position this week. The project sold 15,234 units, a 2 percent decrease from last week’s sales total, which was 15,507. Overall, Azalea has sold 105,658 copies of her The New Classic effort. The singer was one of the performers at this year’s Billboard Music Awards and she was recently named one of the greatest women who rap by XXL.

Elsewhere on the chart, Tech N9ne Collabos’ Strangeulation fell from #5 to #33 with a 77 percent sales drop from last week. Iamsu! entered the chart with Sincerely Yours, which sold 5,832 copies to come in at #50. Atmosphere’s Southsiders, #51, had a 75 percent drop in sales going from #8 to #51. Dr. Dre also made an appearance with 2001, a project that found itself at #94 this week with a 144 percent increase in sales, following news that he might be the first billionaire in Hip Hop.
