At a ceremony that included a hologram Michael Jackson performance, Justin Timberlake brought home 7 awards including the Top Artist and Top Male Artist honors at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Eminem won the Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Album awards, the latter for his 2013 release The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Ludacris hosted the Awards show following Tracy Morgan’s hosting last year.

Eminem beat out Drake, Jay Z, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Pitbull for the Top Rap Artist award. In the Top Rap Album category, Eminem’s Marshal Mathers sequel faced off against J. Cole’s Born Sinner, Drake’s Nothing Was the Same, Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ The Heist.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were awarded the Top Rap Song award for their Ray Dalton featuring hit “Can’t Hold Us.” Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell won several awards including Top Hot 100 Song and Top R&B Song for their shared smash “Blurred Lines.”

Other award winners include Lorde, Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk, and more.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards were broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas earlier tonight (May 18). A Michael Jackson hologram performed “Slave to the Rhythm” as a part of a five-piece band. Pop singer Katy Perry performed her new single “Birthday” at the show following performances from Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea among others.
