On the latest edition of The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory and Mal, things took a slight turn at the end of the 90-minute plus conversation. After Budden asked his co-hosts what their plans were for the weekend, Kanye West came up. After running into each other in Los Angeles, JAY-Z’s current rival evidently told the co-host he was locked and loaded with bars in response to Hov’s subliminal disses on the 4:44 tracks “Kill Jay Z,” “Bam” with Damian Marley and “Caught Their Eyes.”

“Funny story — I don’t like name dropping,” the co-host said. “I had a cool little conversation with Kanye in L.A. he said he gotta a few words in response to what JAY had on 4:44 when his next record is coming out.

“There’s some malice,” he continued. “He wasn’t smiling. He was smiling before that conversation started. He said some funny shit. He said, ‘Yeah man I was next to JAY for years standing right next to him why he didn’t give me no jewels he put on the album?’ He was like, ‘Damn he could have schooled me to all of this shit when I was right next to him.’

Budden replied, “It will be on the album for sure.”

The Life of Pablo MC is one of the only people who hasn’t responded to JAY’s subliminal (and not-so-subliminal) jabs on the album. Many fans believe a diss track from Kanye is well overdue. Three weeks ago, HipHopDX touched on why the barrage of insults being thrown at Kanye courtesy of JAY should’ve solicited a response from Ye, but instead of firing back, he chose to remain silent. By the sound of it, that could change in the near future.
