HipHopDX Premiere: Philly-bred educator/MC Mega Ran is back with a visual for “Old Enough” featuring Ceschi and Sammus. Directed by Kevin Parkinson, the video explores classic movie themes and finds the video game-loving rapper time traveling in a DeLorean.
“I found it was the perfect opportunity for reminiscence with purpose, like It’s A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol, but with a black leading character,” Ran explains to HipHopDX. “That’s never really done. It’s Afro-futurism at its core and an exciting visual adventure, and we even found a DeLorean.
“The song is about growing old awkwardly in Hip Hop and as we move forward, we realize that there’s no wrong way to do it … like eating a Reese’s.”
“Old Enough” is taken from Ran’s Extra Creditalbum, which also features appearances from J-Live, Homeboy Sandman and pop singer SisQo.
