After getting into it with veteran MC/producer Pete Rock on social media earlier this month, Lil Yachty is back at it once again. During a red carpet interview at the 2016 BET Awards with Bossip, rapper-du-jour Lil Yachty was asked about the disconnect between the current and past rap artists. Not only did he say they “don’t know how to accept change,” but he also claimed they were “old and washed up.”

Controversy may not be listed as the middle name on Yachty’s birth certificate (his government name is Miles Parks McCollum) but best believe he knows how to get fan’s passion boiling. Just last week, he openly stated his firm opinion that Drake was better than both Tupac and Biggie, mainly because the OVO added singing to his repertoire.

For a kid who just started his career, it’s rather bold to disrespect those who helped lay the foundation for the genre he so desperately wants to be a part of, especially after the train wreck that was his recent “freestyle,” where he blatantly states, “I’m not a rapper” at the end.

He’ll learn.
