Hailing from Phantogram’s latest studio album, 2016’s THREE, “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” stood out as a moody highlight. The duo of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel went back to the drawing board and reemerged with a remix of the song featuring Joey Purp on the mic and A-Trak behind the mixing board. The song serves as a metaphor for a relationship by comparing it to the hollowness of the “party life.” Purp comes in and drops some pretty eye opening lines such as, “My homies can’t function without something/get it from the jungle/the lion’s humungous,” which begs the question—is being high no longer “cool?” Whatever the case, listen above.
