The magical hour of midnight came and went on Friday (September 27), but Kanye West’s Jesus Is King album failed to materialize, once again disappointing his fans.
Confusion around the release date started swirling earlier this week when Variety reported a source close to Kanye said it wasn’t dropping. At the same time, his wife Kim Kardashian retweeted a post indicating the project would arrive on time.
‘Ye has a healthy track record of delaying — or seemingly abandoning — his albums.
Yandhi was supposed to surface last September but after multiple delays, it appeared to simply vanish into the oblivion. However, chatter surrounding its existence just popped up again this week after The Blast published paperwork suggesting Kanye’s legal team had asked officials to reconsider trademarking “Yandhi.”
Kanye’s 2018 solo album ye also experienced a slight delay. Fans stayed up until midnight hoping to get their hands on it but went to sleep without it.
Jesus Is King is just the latest example of Kanye’s erratic album release schedule.
Naturally, Twitter had something to say about it.
Check out some of the reactions below.
I used to be a fan of his music, but to be honest i just lost intrest for it at all. I dont care if he drops this album or not. Whatever

Hes not well. How do you people not see that? Have you not seen the whole White House episode? The black people made a choice to be slaves thing? The crazy weight gain?
The “slavery is a choice” thing has been taken out of context by the media. If he were still anti-Republican, you never would have heard that he said that, and it would have been treated like a profound statement about mindset. But since he came out as pro-Trump, they had to dissect something he said to discredit him. But sure, he came of pretty weird when he was in the oval office ranting.
But what did he mean though?
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years,” he said. “For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?”
Sounds like he’s saying they all sat there and took it and didn’t try to rise up. Even though there were over 6000 slave rebellions. But all were quashed and the leaders saw their women and children killed because of it.
Look, I can give a shit he’s a Republican. Blacks don’t owe Democrats a damn thing and I’ve voted for many Republicans in my day. But don’t go all anti-black because you support Trump. Ready to call blacks out for the low station many of us are in but would never tell poor whites about themselves. That’s what people seem to always be ready to do; tell poor blacks that they’re sheep for voting Democrat meanwhile loot whites do the same for Republicans but are never chastised.
Anyway, I was never a Kanye fan to begin with and I don’t like or dislike him any less or more now. His politics mean nothing to me. Just make good music. And I don’t think he’s done so for quite some time.
I separated that into 3 paragraphs lol. Don’t know what happened…
I’m not sure how ur justifying it but slavery is a scourge on humanity and implying that it was in anyway a choice for people to die on ships, to be brought here in chains and to be forced into free manual labor is fucked up. He clearly said it for publicity and that makes him a disgrace to his race and humanity in general.
I disagree. I see someone who has just learned how to go on with a mental illness it’s not easy you know bless him if he takes his meds in time he will be right as reign trust me I KNOW
Hes going to end up hurting himself. Trust me. I KNOW.
It’s out
Kanye been trash since 2009. Ain’tnobody checking for his weak ass albums or to watch him exploit religion as a means to get his career back on track.
Exploiting religion for a paycheck is pretty much the purpose of religion.
I’m checking for him. Speak for yourself. You don’t represent me nor the masses…
The masses? The same masses who have brought mumble rap to the forefront of hiphop? The masses that compare drake to the likes of Pac and Big? Is that who you’re referring to you?
Ahhah, Well, im not checkin for him. So what you think bout that?
I like it, even if he is pulling a pub stunt because at the end of the day he is spreading a positive message all around the interweb cheer up. “Always look on the bright side of life” der der der der der der der der
Nobody cares
Keep it delayed.. if you honestly care about this wack ass album you a lame fuck
