Travis Scott’s Dior Collaboration Gets Shelved As Astroworld Fallout Continues

The fallout from the tragic Astroworld Festival continues for Travis Scott. In a statement to WWD on Tuesday (December 28), Dior announced it has postponed Scott’s 2022 Cactus Jack Dior collection indefinitely.

“Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection,” the luxury fashion house relayed.

Travis Scott and Cactus Jack’s Dior collaboration was slated to arrive ahead of summer 2022 and featured a t-shirt honoring the late Pop Smoke, who was killed in February 2020 and worked with La Flame on “GATTI.”

The since-shelved collection also included a sneaker collaboration, which was debuted at Paris Fashion Week in June, as well as a brown jacket emblazoned with a never-before-seen Dior x Cactus Jack logo on the back. Travis Scott would have been the first musical artist ever to create a full Dior collection.

The future of the collaboration was thrown into uncertainty just days after the Astroworld Festival tragedy, with speculation suggesting the line could be axed.

“It is an apocalyptic marketing turn for that brand when you double down on this icon to Gen Z that now has effectively detonated in your face,” Reputation Management Consultants chairman Eric Schiffer told Rolling Stone in November.

10 festival attendees were killed and hundreds more were injured at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival on November 5. Since then, hundreds of lawsuits have piled up suing the “SICKO MODE” rapper and Live Nation for billions of dollars.

Earlier this month, Congress got involved and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform requested Live Nation to come forward and explain the systematic failure that led to the death of 10 people.

    1. This shit is so fucking stupid. Travis should start suing all these companies for cancelling signed contracts. Companies are quick to sue rappers for breach of contract, so shouldn’t it work both ways ? Who gets to decide whos guilty or innocent ? A court of law or a bunch of sensitive twitter users with no life ? Im not even a Travis Scott fan but the concept of cancel culture is a million times worse than the worst autotune singing rapper.

      1. Agreed. It also shows what these huge brands (that famous people work with) care about. They do not stand by any rules. They can go fuk themselves. You know who knew about this? Kanye West. That is why he made his own brand and won his freedom. I wish Travis the same. Audi 5000

    2. Look at all these dumb asses mad about TS.

This was a big win for the people and betterment of humanity.

He even looks like a demon on that Door shirt. The whole reference to Dante’s inferno, the Satanic art and then just not giving a real fuck about these people shows not only what is wrong with you people but him.

This dude’s gonna lose everything because he’s going to end up having Live Nation and GoldenVoice. Who own every major festival and do every tour worth literally anything throw him under. Infact they already did distance themselves.

Bye Travis Scott. The world don’t need you, infact a person with two first fake names doesn’t get much faker.

If your reading this TS. Hang yourself. It’ll all be better then. Lol
