Tony Yayo Says 50 Cent Treats His Artists Better Than JAY-Z

Tony Yayo thinks 50 Cent takes much better care of his artists and sets them up for success than JAY-Z does with his clients, and he’s not taking any arguments.

During an interview with Thisis50, Yayo spoke about having the ability to still visit other countries and tour way past his prime, and he attributed this to 50 Cent. He pointed out that he respected Uncle Murda‘s grind — who was present during the interview — and said he had a much different journey to get to this point.

Murda was once signed to JAY-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records in 2007, and he received a considerable push at the time. However, JAY-Z’s departure a year later left Murda in limbo where he eventually parted ways and found a home with 50 and G-Unit records in 2016.

“That’s why I respect him because we have more of an assist,” Yayo said. “We have 50 Cent so I knew I was okay. He sold 11 million records I’m gonna get a percentage of his fans. I’m good. He had the kind of more do it on his own. He had deals with JAY-Z and them but JAY-Z ain’t gonna never… I always tell them all the time JAY-Z ain’t treating you like this n-gga.”

Uncle Murda chimed in to say Yayo likes to play around and told a story of a party they were at recently that was attended by several celebrities, including the Kardashians and Serena Williams. According to Murda, Yayo threw a lighthearted jab at Hov and his hospitality.

“We just finished performing, great time, right,” Murda said. “First thing my man wanna say, ‘Yeah shit lit, JAY-Z will never take you to a party like this.”

Murda then said JAY-Z got him his first six-figure check and thanked him in the process. Yayo then wanted to clear the air and explain what he was trying to say.

“I’m just telling you how we get treated,” Yayo said. “I’m quite sure Hov and a lot of artists they treat some of their artists maybe good, maybe not. I’m just telling you how we get treated. I don’t know [if] JAY-Z ever had him in the Armani Hotel.”

50 Cent has done more than give his artists opportunities, he’s also given them life-saving tips, especially Tony Yayo. In an interview with the Only Way Out Podcast, Yayo reflected back on Pop Smoke’s death and 6ix9ine’s RICO case, adding that the only reason he was able to avoid similarly dangerous situations was because of key tips 50 Cent threw his way when he was a young rapper.

“There used to be 14 guns on the bus like Bobby Shmurda and them n-ggas, we used to be running around like that,” Yayo said. “You gotta kinda be smart, you have a n-gga like Fif around that help us survive a lot of shit. ‘Cause he’ll be like, ‘Yo, if you gotta bring a gun, why the fuck you going? Just go party in my mansion I’m not even there. Just take over my mansion.”

He continued: “He’ll tell you: ‘You know you got a girl in your room that’s a stranger. Don’t get these girls pregnant on the road, ’cause I done seen n-ggas do it.'”

    1. I understand Yayo’s loyalty to 50, and its good 50 has seemingly treated him well.. but seriously, who gives a shit what “important” celebrities are at some party 50 brings you too, or what hotel he “puts you up in.” Sounds very immature and superficial bringing up dumb shit like that.

    2. 50 is a great role model for teaching grown men that having to roll around with 16 guns says you’re likely inserting yourself into danger, and that getting random whores pregnant isn’t in your best interest. I mean, who would know this stuff!?!? Amazing insight!!!!

    3. Yayo’s bootlicking is reaching crazy proportions. I’m just waiting for the part where he says 50’s his father and he fathered his kids because he showed him in down.

      1. @Oti Banks is doing great as an artist, Yayo is going to Canada for an individual tour… 50 is a legend f**k wat u he’d son

      2. Bucks is broke b/c of 50, banks dropping great albums that noone listens to, yayo is on Vlad giving life tips. What songs does yayo have to tour with? Kidd is irrelevant, game is making music for his wife. Stop lying to yourself bro

    5. Bleek had 4 albums released in 6 years and 2 labels, which his albums also came out under in order for him to receive an additional bag. We really gon sit here and act like Yayo had a better career??

      1. @Sway till date Yayo has fair a better deal than wat Bleek was and he is till date. Bleek has 4 albums and nobody knows about his album around the globe

    6. 50 the same cat who thru Yayo In bushes. Same cat who was not there for Banks when his father died. Same guy who exposed all he did for y’all. I’d take someone like Cam’ron push and he did his dawgs. He may a not made his cats initially rich like 50 did. But his push withstood the test of time. As Juelz and Jim Jones, are more relevant and probably more wealthy then any G Unit artists right now. Chill Yayo.

    11. I’m surprised at all the people defending Jay. A big part of his success is his cutthroat approach to business He’s milked so many dry for his own self gain until he bounces or cut ties. Its never personal, but that’s just how he evolved his business. Jay doesn’t stand next to anyone he has nothing to gain from. G-Unit the group, not the label was definitely more of a family than ROC-LA-FAMILIA.

      1. I totally agree. Someone says it’s immature to brag about hotels and parties. I am no artists and I don’t make millions of dollars either but, each time my family and I take a trip, its very important to me and them where we lay our head. Is the hotel clean, safe etc. Its not immature, its important. It can most definitely determine whether you live or die once you lay your head down.
