The Game Admits He Dodged & Survived Bullets In Honest Instagram Post

“I woke up out that coma 2001/’bout the same time Dre dropped 2001,” were the opening words from The Game’s unforgettable, Kanye West-produced single “Dreams” back in 2005.

At the time of the song and his debut album The Documentary was released, Jayceon Taylor was just a few years removed from almost losing his life after being shot five times in the chest area.

18 years to the day, on Tuesday (October 1), the Compton-bred rap star felt obliged to revisit the dark times through an Instagram vent.

“OCTOBER 1ST 2001 ‼️” he began. “18 years since I was in a coma after getting shot 5 times in the dope spot… I look at this video of the younger me & I can’t do anything but thank God for the opportunity to have a second chance. All I knew was Cedar Block Piru !!!! I’m tellin y’all, I was a real fuck up…

While rappers have been bragging about holding heat since the beginning of rap itself, Game didn’t mince his words when he said he was always packing.

“I didn’t go nowhere without 3 guns on me..,” he continued. “I used to play basketball wit a glock on my waist in the holster… Compton made me that way. 2 dead brothers, n everybody make in my family gang banned…. that was the way. Foster care… the system wouldn’t let me go back to my momma & then when They finally did.. I was different than my momma was used to.. I wasn’t her sweet 8 year old baby anymore.. So my momma didn’t want shit to do with me at that point, my granny died on me right after high school & crushed me… I was in & out the County Jail, hardcore gang banging… shoot outs wit rival crip niggas round my way, all my homies that were alive then that are dead now…. from then to now so much has changed for me… I didn’t have any children when I got shot now I have 3 & their doing amazing in life.”

Eight albums, several multi-platinum plaques and dozens of wild news headlines later, Game, 39, has slowed his tempo for the most part but couldn’t help to admit he used to be 100 miles and runnin’ like N.W.A.

“Back then, I didn’t care if I lived or died & that was normal to me. I never expected nor cared to live past 25 years old. I literally didn’t give a fuck !!!! My childhood was rough…. sometimes I do not know how I made it out of all I’ve been through… but, I did… & I guess that’s the only important part of my story at this point in life. I’m here….. & I look at my kids & they have no idea what I went through so they could be here & have what they have….. #HateItOrLoveIt #HappySurvivalAnniversarySelf ??”

Despite hinting at retirement for much of the past year, Game is expected to deliver at least one last album, still titled Born To Rap as of press time.

    1. Don’t know. This guy has definitely been through things in life. I’m not doubting that. Him and his family definitely survived some dramas. But he still looks like a studio gangsta to me. There is something about him that looks fake to me. It’s just my opinion. Good rapper though. Very consistant.

      1. I feel the same about Game. He has that fake gangsta vibes. He has been through shit in life but I think he is probably making it way bigger to look like he a real gangsta.

      2. its because he has that look like what somebody would be in a movie.

        But this his real life.

Sometimes what happens in life can be just as unimaginable as what you see in a fuckin movie.

        1. So, real gangsta get butterfly tattoos and strip? And then get rid of said tattoo? Interesting… I guess that might be true, considering half of the self proclaimed gangsters are closeted honosexuals.

      3. calling him a studio gangsta… coming from a nameless person in the comments.. what does it take to PROVE ‘gangster’ to an anonymous commenter? i would understand if you KNEW or MET dude but other than that you just talking from the nose bleeds. if you feel he’s a good rapper than that’s all you should be concerned with when referring to a musician or MC..

        1. Real gangsters don’t flaunt being a gangster haha. They don’t snitch on themselves 24/7. Real gangsters wear suits and ties. A real gangster is like Hillary Clinton. Acting professional, making hundreds of millions worldwide, and running massive worldwide criminal syndicates, all while appearing to be a nice little old lady. That’s gangster. Game… He was a retard thug, not a gangster.

      1. U right. I never have (or probably ever will) him in my top 10 emcees, but this man consistently makes better, complete bodies of work (albums) than, really, anyone in the game. His beat selections are always impeccable.

    2. If yall believe all that your fools. This man had butterfly tattoos and blonde hair. From being raised in Philly we would call game lame and a fraud. High yellow dude tryna show hes gangsta and a follower. No cred at all from anyone. Hes lame. And shows more fraud characteristics than most. Philly bred. We can smell a lame.

      1. I have much respect for Philly, but Lil Uzi Vert is from there, literally wears women’s clothes and I don’t hear you calling him lame and a fraud.

      1. Exactly. He’s irritating. I don’t care what he’s seen, his demeanor on that TV show told who he really was. We’ve seen videos of other rappers when they were 18-19 years old before they made it famous and the “gangsta” was already there if they are who they said they were. Not even in the sense of being “hard” or tough, just in the sense of how you move and speak. He was a clean cut, proper-speaking lame. And there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s what you should strive to be once you realize all the other stuff is nonsense. Fast forward a couple years later and all of a sudden he was some supposed-to-be monster who was mean mugging the camera everytime it got pointed out him. Pure fraud.

    3. All these tough guys here saying game is fake etc. run up on him. I see him all the time out and about in L.A.. he is solo or with one homie of his. No security. I’ve never talked to him but he seems real cool. He takes pics with people, apparently tips well etc. he also looks like he would fight over some stupid shit in a heartbeat. He is at Nobu in Malibu almost every weekend. I guarantee all of you pussies wouldn’t say shit. Keyboard warriors. LOL. Seriously. Ask him to run a fade.
