Tech N9ne Unleashes “The Storm” Album

Tech N9ne has dropped his newest album, The Storm. The project is made up of 20 tracks broken down into three parts expressing different sides of the Kansas City MC’s personality, “Kingdom,” “Clown Town” and “G.Zone.”

The Strange Music co-founder has already shared the singles “Sriracha” with Logic and Lucas Joyner as well as “Get Off Me” with Problem and the label’s newest signee Darrein Safron.

The Storm was delayed as Tech went through a divorce and his aunt was shot in his hometown. He went on a nationwide tour that was supposed to be in promotion of the album without the album.

“I have to stay focused,” he said to HipHopDX in a Facebook Live interview back in November. “It’s hard but I make sure that I have some happiness around me when everything is fucked up. This actual album was supposed to come out September 9. I wasn’t done so I missed that beautiful date.”

Tech’s last album was Special Effects that features Eminem and Krizz Kaliko on “Speedom (Worldwide Choppers 2).”

Tech N9ne prepares for what’s brewing this fall as he releases the tracklist for The Storm album.

The LP, which is due out December 9, consists of 20 tracks broken down into three parts: “Kingdom” reflects Tech’s braggadocious side, “Clown Town” features the darkest music of the project and “G.Zone” is dedicated to the gangster life. The Strange Music boss had previously released one song from each phase and dropped “Sriracha” with Logic and Lucas Joyner this week.

Other features on The Storm come from fellow Strange Music artists Stevie Stone, Krizz Kaliko, Darrein Safron and Big Scoob, who is preparing the release of his own album, H.O.G., for a November 4 release.

The deluxe version of The Storm includes a fourth section with 12 additional tracks from Tech, Murs and more.

Tech N9ne is bringing a wave of new music with his new album, The Storm, which the Strange Music boss announced today (September 9) via a press release.

The Storm is set to drop December 9 and will be made up of three sections. “Kingdom” reflects Tech’s braggadocious side, “Clown Town” features the darkest music of the project and “G.Zone” is dedicated to the gangster life. He released three tracks, — one from each section — ahead of The Storm‘s due date.

“I wanted to give a gift to you, my fans, and show you that I care about all of you, together,” the independent legend says. “To give you a song off of each level of this wonderful album. I hope you enjoy the songs as much as I do.”

The Storm is the follow-up to Special Effects, which was released last year and included the epic “Speedom (WWC2)” that featured Eminem and Krizz Kaliko. Tech N9ne and Strange Music also unleashed Strangeulation Vol. II.

Tech celebrated two singles being certified gold this year, which brings his total count of songs with 500,000 sales to three.

The Kansas City rapper is currently traveling on The Calm Before The Storm 2016 Tour.

    1. Who is Tech Nine?? I thought that was a gun? And uh I wouldnt buy an album that came with a storm. Sounds too messy for me personally!

    2. Always good to see him back again and again. Dug Special Effects.
Also Angel of Death the new Mac Lethal track with Tech guesting is fucking fire.

    3. Great rapper but a one trick pony. Always rhyming fast over heavy metal beats and keeps repeating himself again and again. I stick to Tech N9ne early years. case closed.

        1. You ignored the rest of what Meeky Mouse said. He also raps “over heavy metal beats and keeps repeating himself again and again.” And that’s the problem with Tech over the last 10 years or so. There’s no evolution to his sound, and he doesn’t seem to be growing or maturing as an artist. Instead, if anything, he devolving, going more and more radio with trappy beats and RnB hooks. There’s no denying he is a great lyricist and that he can rap fast, but his music has gotten boring and repetitive. He just keeps remaking the same songs over and over again.

          1. If you think he only raps over heavy metal beats then you don’t listen to him. His leaks before release, every single one has not been a metal beat. It seems no one can come up with legitimate criticisms for tech

    4. As a hustler tech and travis are top tier.however they need to find a way to draw in other listeners that arent looking for their type of rap.they need to diverisify their label and market them ala tde

      1. It is diverse, hence the name, STRANGE….
He must be doing something right, he has a successful indie label….

        1. Except all of Strange’s music sounds the same. Just because you name your label something doesn’t make it true. For example, Sage Francis’s Strange Famous Records isn’t really that famous. But then again, Tech did say not that long ago that he wanted to diversify Strange’s sound, which is why they are looking to sign pop and metal acts, though that seems like completely the wrong direction if they want to be taken more seriously as a hiphop label. Currently, the reason why there is so much hate for them is that Strange seems catered to suburban white kids, and going in that pop/metal direction only makes that worse. Granted, this strategy has worked so far for Strange since their fans dickride like crazy.

          1. Dick riding hardly. We respect the fact he does what no one else does. The way he grew up is what comes through the mic. I just can’t stand the same ole Jay-Z, Kanye, uneducated bull shit rap. Techs newer music is actually insightful and motivating in many ways. But people don’t listen for that anymore.

      2. Diversify as in be just like every other label that does not even know what the fuck it is anymore? They have been from day one if you dont like us then dont listen and it remains that way thats why i got more love for strange as a label than 99% of labels out there

        1. Lmao i got a fanbase or something really? 2 different dipshits posting under my username on 1 article the fuck? And either 2 different people or 1 bipolar split personality having mother fucker bashing him one second and praising tech another second lol but at least this clone i can agree with techs fire siracha was fire and its great to see him diversify and not dedicate himself to 1 genre or 1 label thats a true artist someone who makes music to make music not target trending topics and riding twitter beefs to increase sales rather than just making good music the industrys in a pathetic place today artists could learn from tech

      3. Listen to mayday, they are quite different compared to the rest, they’re a klusterfuk of rock and rap and if you listen to their older shit it’s got a bit of techno to it

    5. Tech needs to stop this splitting of his personality like this. “Here’s my gangsta song, here’s my juggalo song,” just have one rap persona that combines them all. Nobody wants to listen to anything called “Clown Town” you fucking goof.

    6. I know it’s wack to pass on music because you aren’t a fan of the artists featured, but I can’t lie, I’m guilty of it. I’ve done it with Joe Budden (getting French Montana and Wiz on his album) Pusha T (Rick Ross, 2chainz, Future on his album) and passed on Tech’s past few albums for having Weezy and whoever on them. I’m glad to see this one is free of all that. Maybe I’ll check for it, it’s been awhile since i’ve given a Tech album a full listen (since All 6s and 7s I believe). I wish he would go back to his West Coast Gangsta days and do some new shit with Yukmouth and the Regime. That’s how I first heard of him.

      1. Did you truly not like that ” Bass Akwards”….at first before I had ever even heard it I was skeptical as shit! Idk what it is with Wayne wether he really looks up the N9ne or what!? Which he should either! We all know they got mad respect for each other!
I think the N9ne knows how to bring the best out in rappers! When I heard Wayne’s verse man it was like a nostalgia going on bro, the days of his original albums! That verse he spit was good and I feel like he put some mad thought and skills into the verse just for the N9ne.atlest with him doing all these features he is is bringing the best out in everyone and although we like 21 songs of the Krizz and N9ne it’s nice to see him work with other stars in their own right!
If anything if you have been a fan from when he first started he has done it all why not work with people that he has wanted to murder tracks with for a long time especially since everyone in hip hop respect this man! I bet to him he is. Like a kid in a candy store with all these pretty good artist wants to make some beautiful music!
Strange baby it goes up! ^S^
I have a hard time not talking shit about rappers who don’t take this gift serious as far as all these new Shit ones out.
That’s another reason people respect him! Dude has mad love for anyone trying to make music and get out of poverty like he has said for years! The man is very well spoken and wise in the game and very respected! I wish more main stream artists would follow suit! He is one of a kind which we as fans who been around for YEARS knows what good music is and music people put out jyafor some greenback! Shit has no substance lmao!

    7. Heard the album today. Not impressed after one spin. Went back to Absolute Power immediately after that and it sounds so much better.

    8. i know a lot of ppl on here dont like tech based off the comments, but have u heard of Ces Cru..listen to Gridlock off this album and u should like it

    9. All tech haters are his motivation. If u haven’t been a follower from the beginning then u wouldn’t understand. His music isn’t made for the masses, but mostly for his fans. His newer music actually allows us to know about things he normally wouldn’t share. Anyone who has had it rough, been fucked over or been close to there friends and family would appreciate the so called “sell out” music. Some people just want gangsta club bull shit and no content. He’s done shows and songs for war vets and actually has taken on today’s topics in an eye and ear opening way. LISTEN to the last four songs on SOMETHING ELSE. The fact that he really hasn’t sold out, keeps making weird music, but gets people like Eminem to send him verses FOR FREE, says it all.
