Rap Release Dates: Curren$y, U.S.D.A., Naughty By Nature, Waka Flocka Flame

Album releases these days are much like the weather – completely unpredictable. While artists vow to get their albums out within a calendar year, that doesn’t always go according to plan. We’ve dealt with that quite a bit with some of our favorites in 2011, and as we’re two months away from wrapping it up and heading into 2012, there is more to check out long before New Year’s Eve.

This week brings a heavy dose of post-Halloween goodness, as Rapper Big Pooh comes with Dirty Pretty Things. Torae also drops his sort of debut titled For The Record plus Wale’s Ambition. Once Wale’s album leaked last week it was like the Wild Wild West, with tracks like “DC Or Nothing,” the title track “Ambition” with Rick Ross and Meek Mill, along with the Diplo produced “Slight Work” with Big Sean. It’s no secret, people love Wale – with or without his MMG cosign. Wale appeared on the crew united  Self Made Vol. 1, but this is his first album under Maybach Music Group’s umbrella.

Speaking of crew collaborations, next week Tech N9ne delivers Welcome To Strangeland on November 8th. The founding father of Strange Music brings this project out with fellow Strangers like Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, and ¡MAYDAY! Tech brought us “The Noose” a few weeks back, and then continued with “Unfair” and the most recent “Slave.” Message music at its finest. In other crew news, Young Jeezy looks pretty set on dropping The After Party with USDA on November 15th. Everyone wants some Thug Motivation 103, but this will have to do for now. On November 29th, Curren$y brings Jet Life: Jet World Order. What initially seemed like a mixtape turned album is now a collaborative effort, as Spitta will link up with Trademark Da Skydiver, Young Roddy and The JETS on this upcoming release.

Finally, December 6th gets two new surprises. Naughty By Nature will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with Anthem, Inc. The Jersey rap veterans call this a Collector’s Edition album that will include re-recorded versions of “O.P.P.,” “Hip Hop Hooray” “Uptown Anthem” and others. There’s also some new material on there as well. That same day, Mr. T-Pain announced that he will in fact be dropping rEVOLVEr. T-Pain got some wind in his sails with his Lil Allen sampled “5 o’clock” with Wiz Khalifa. Now must be the perfect time to spin the revolver and see what happens. By the end of December, Waka Flocka Flame will also have an album out called Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, and Family. Until then, listen to his “Lebron Flocka James 3” mixtape here (and Part 2 if you really are a fan).
