Q-Tip Debuts “Want U 2 Want” Featuring Kendrick Lamar On Beats 1 Radio

Although A Tribe Called Quest performed its final U.S. show last year, the legendary Hip Hop group’s de facto leader Q-Tip evidently still has some solo joints left in his arsenal.

On Friday night (February 9), Tip debuted an unreleased track featuring Kendrick Lamar during his Beats 1 Radio show, Abstract Radio. Titled “Want U 2 Want,” the song finds K. Dot and Tip swapping vocal duties throughout the nearly 4:30-minute long offering.

Lamar also handles the track’s soulful hook, “The love of your name can only pertain to the flame I got in my vein/ I never complain when your name is mentioned/ I can’t hold back or restrain, it’s the flame I got in my vein/ I never complain, I just want you to want me/ Want you to want me.”

Elsewhere in the show, Tip played his cover of Elton John and Kiki Dee’s “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” with Demi Levato. Tip plays “Want U 2 Want” around the 1 hour 42-minute mark.

    1. That is what my soul needed right now!
With Tip and K-dot you are always on the safe side. Such thoughtful dudes.
      Nothing but love <3

    2. I need to hear Kendrick flow. I’ve heard too much; king this, king that, kendrick kendrick, king ???, king, king, king….His rhyme patterns now are so outside of traditional rhyme schemes it’s hard to tell Kendrick’s true strengths. Yeah, he’s saying cool things, but is it really poetic and cohesive. King, king, king, king…..

      1. Wow! Honestly! I am a big fan of K Dot and I have been saying this for years. It seems like he is still in an experimental mode with his flow. All 4 of his records are so inconsistent. I really don’t know his true strengths as well.
