Nick Cannon and Eminem’s complicated history stretches back over a decade when Slim Shady released “Bagpipes From Baghdad” in 2009. In one of his verses, Eminem takes a shot at Cannon and his then-wife Mariah Carey who he allegedly dated for a brief period of time.
The feud was resurrected in 2019 with the release of Fat Joe’s “Lord Above” single featuring Shady and Mary J. Blige in which Em raps, “I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note/But that other dude’s whipped, that pussy got him neutered/Tried to tell him this chick’s a nut job before he got his jewels clipped/Almost got my caboose kicked, fool, quit, you not gon’ do shit/I let her chop my balls off, too ‘fore I lost to you, Nick.”
From there, Cannon returned fire with not one but multiple diss tracks, including “The Invitation” and “Pray For Him.” Despite Cannon and Shady’s sordid past, the Power 106 radio personality can’t deny the man’s talent.
During Cannon’s new “World Famous Top 5” segment, he takes a look at who he believes has the Top 5 Flows in rap — and Eminem sits at the top.
“I gotta give it to him ya’ll,” he says. “Ain’t no hate in my heart. Marshall Mathers, ladies and gentlemen, Eminem. That dude can’t be contested when it comes to his flow. His wordplay is crazy but even how he puts them together. Salute to you king!”
As for the other four, Cannon’s list spans the spectrum of classic ’90s Hip Hop to more current groups. In the No. 5 spot sits Bizzy Bone of the Cleveland-bred rap legends Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Cannon explains, “Some say he started all this fast rapping melodic stuff. I know he would say it! Shouts out to Bizzy Bone.”
As for No. 4, that was a toss up between The Notorious B.I.G. and the Atlanta trio Migos, but Cannon ultimately gives it to Migos. “I don’t know if it goes to Takeoff, Quavo, or Offset, but they changed the game with it, you can’t denounce it,” he says.
Sitting at No. 3 is Bay Area pioneer E-40 and at No. 2 is the inimitable Snoop Dogg who he says is the “best to ever do it.” He continues, “We talked about Biggie’s slow flow, but the first person with the slow flow from my side of the world, that I’ve seen do it — and it was probably because he was high — Mr. Snoop Doggy Dogg. That flow is crazy, and it was sometimes all freestyle. Cats didn’t know that.”
KXNG Crooked and Royce Da 5’9 both declared the beef between Eminem and Cannon was over earlier this month. After Cannon took a photo with Royce, someone called Cannon the “enemy” to which Crooked replied, “They’re not enemies, it’s over.”
Royce then laughed off a photoshopped meme of him posing with other celebrities Shady had dissed in the past, saying, “Ok I deserve this. Listen… Please stop making these. These are too hilarious… Beef between @eminem x @nickcannon is water under the bridge… Thank you to @fatjoe for helping to make it happen… Let’s spread love y’all.”
Check out Royce’s post below.
Migos over Biggie lmfao hahaha
TF? He never heard Twista?
Rakim? Percee P? Chip Fu? Dinco D?
Eminem was a tool used by the industry to promote HipHop/Rap music to the Caucasian fan base (period.) … And it worked. Let’s give him some credit though, he can write lyrics. HOWEVER, have any of you who love or liked his music ever once LISTENED to him??? He sounds like a whiny teenager. Always has sounded like a whiny white boy on the mic. He has NO VOICE – NEVER DID. Listen to his voice, it’s like fingernails on a chalkboard to my ears. And for that reason – I never liked his music, but I do acknowledge that he can write some fire down with a pad and pen.
You should like a bitch bitch, shut the f uck up
Anybody that doesn’t like Eminem is lame as fuck so shut the fuck up hater ass bitches nobody wants to hear you….
Eminem has sick beats sometimes but I respectfully disagree. His flow is great But others like Notorious IMO has a better flow.
Rakim, biggi…..hate to say it homeboy buck ?
No one has a better flow than Wise Intelligent…..clearly, Nick’s still in kiss ass mode
The best thing about EM is how versatile he is. He can switch up and do whatever flow he needs to, whatever has been done or will be done he can make it his own. I always thought it was amazing in how he rides the beat in Gatman and Robin, not a great song but the way he rides the beat is impressive, while 50 can’t even come close.
The puppet masters told Nick in order to get your show back and get in our good graces again is to get on the eminem bandwagon and call him king. He is the a great writer and has one of the best flow. But THE best? Hell nah.
That is a grown-up thing to do. Beef’s are so unnecessary.
We talking best flows Nick was headed in the right direction when he started with bizzy, I would say Bone thugs as a group though, Krayzie flow just as good as bizzy. Big, cool I wouldn’t put big in there but I don’t have problem with anybody that does. But then my dude said migos like really?????? I’m lost…… migos not top 5 right in there own class or generation. I would put Krit, Gibbs and some many others over them. My top 5 in no particular order is Bone Thugs, Twista, Pun, Big L, Outkast.
Rakim, big pun, bone thugs-n-harmony, 3k, Method man
Big Daddy Kane has the greatest flow in hip hop history !!!!
People keep forgetting how sick Big Pun was. People like bringing up Biggie because he was a massive commercial success, I like Biggie but I always thought Pun was way better flowise and lyrically. I like snoop but he’s not close to top 5. Most real hiphop heads respect and like the grind of E40 but I don’t know anybody that says his flow is the best most considered his flow broke similar to silk the shocker. Pun, AZ, Rakim, Bone, Bun B is underrated, Outkast,
Translation: Thanks Em for trying to get my name out there again with Fat Joe, I thought our plan would work but I ended up looking like an anti-semite instead. And for the record, Krayzie Bone got the best flow of all time, not the best lyricist but his flow and presence is undeniable.
Krayzie Bone invented the Bone Flow, not Bizzy
You have short list you listen to if you think the migos have a top 5 flow. Nick is showing
his lack of depth when it comes to hip hop/rap.
Krayzie Bone is better than bizzy, bizzy just gets attention cause of his erractic behavior at times.
Best Flow: Krazy Bone ,Young Dro, Fatal Hussain (ThaOutlawz), JuicyJ, method man, BunB.
Too many to pick from always thought naughty by nature went hard with flow on the party anthems lol
Method Man, Krayzie Bone, Rakim, Twista, Andre 3000
KXNG Crooked belongs in this conversation.
1.3k
2. Big Pun
3. Krayzie Bone of Bone thug n harmony
4. Luda
5. Mos Def, Joey Bad-zz, Big krit, Slaughterhouse
He’s just trying to get migos on his podcast. I can’t understand what they are saying, but to each his own.
I agreed with Nick Cannon on Bone and Big but after that he must have
said this ish making too much sense let me say something off the rails
Not clout chasing at all…. he puts Em #1 which is understandable but has the fkin Migos at 3. Actin like he never heard the ridiculous flows of Outkast, Jay, Rae/Ghost/Meth… cmon man….
Kool g rap is prob no.1 he pretty much started the flow which Eminem does and other rappers look up to such as wu tang, nas, biggie, big pun, mop, mobb deep. jay z etc.
Nick obviously doesnt want to be remembered as the guy who was obsessed with dissing Eminem and didnt even get a response. If he can jump on a collab with Eminem history might remember him differently. It also doesnt help that he just lost wildin out. He needs to rebrand himself and this could be a way.
Love Em but hes not top 5 flows come on ill put krayzie bone , bizzy bone , methodman , redman , ice cube , rakim etc over eminem if we just talk about flow and krayzie bone is gonna me my number 1 spot fuck even lyrical ill put krayzie bone on my top 5
Meth and Red, LL, Rakim, Krayzie Bone, Big daddy Kane, Big Pun,
Thank you for adding Big Pun. I can’t see making a list like this without him.
Bizzy Bone – nobody on earth could come close.
Did he just put the fucking Migos ahead of biggie?
Eat a ? Nick Cannon. M& M flow ain’t shit. Migos are dumpster juice.
Eat a dick nick cannon. M& M flow ain’t shit. Migos are dumpster juice. FOH.
Freddie Gibbs, 38 Spesh and Killer Mike’s flows are criminally slept on.
38 spesh is FUCKIN CRAZY WITH IT!!! I dont understand how he dont get the coverage he deserves!! #ABulletForEveryHeathen
From adversary to dickeater, Nick you’ve come a long way
Ever heard battle rappers giving it up to Eminem? YouTube that shit then and watch them explain to the advanced level they think he’s at. Dudes basically writing battle rap lyrics and rapping to em, nobody in rap does that …
You need to push your meth pipe.. I think you’re sniffing em’s ass way too hard dummy.. get the stan shirt. You were born to wear it
His music is repetitive as fuck. His lyrics are Generic, Winey, and Edgy. His beats are super generic sounding. A lot of people say that he used to be good, and it’s only his newer albums which suck, but I honestly think he’s always sucked. Just like the majority of white rappers.
I bet you wouldn’t say that if I was standing in front of you
You’d never be standing in front of me since you never leave your mama’s basement.
Biggie,meth,jeru,krazybone,havoc
Pharoache Monch, Kool G Rap. Posdnous, Trey – Pharcyde Treach , Big L,
Clearly he was forced to say this due to his past comments. His handlers made his release this statement. Things you have to do to remain in show business
Oh, So now he’s sucking Eminems dick to get on his good side.
Em one of the greatest to do it, but I do think nick is trying to hard to show that there is no beef between the two. I think Em is one of the greatest to do it. But in terms of flow I wouldn’t put him no 1 not sure I would have him in the top 5. Rappers like Treach, Pun, Big L, Redman, Krayzie Bone, All of slaughterhouse, Big Krit, Gibbs, Kool G, Mos Def,
You a prejudice fuck…i would say biggie the goat..but the best rappers alive are lil wayne , eminem and kids in that order. Not liking em bc he is white is played out. He’s proved himself. Hating for what? ??
Where in his comment did he say anything about Em’s race….smh lay off the pipe lol
Saying Eminem is not the GOAT is the same as agreeing with Kodak Black when he said he is better than Tupac and Biggie.
My top 5 would be Rakim, Kool G, Pun, Krayzie Bone, Andre 3000. Honorable mentions Luda, Big L, Method man, Talib, Az, Nas, Treach, MC Ren,
I meant that reply to captain obvious. Not grind time.
Off the top of my head
1. Biggie
2. Meth
3. Pac
4. Jada
5. Rakim
6. Nas
Looks like money can buy you damn near anything these days?
First off, it’s Nick Cannon. If he thinks Eminem is the best flow he’s ever heard, he obviously never listened to rap in the 80s and early 90s. Or 2000s. Or 2010s. Or today.
I never realized how terrible Eminem was until he released three separate albums talking about how great he was. When I went back and listened to his early stuff… I couldn’t. There wasn’t one song that was listenable.
And if you notice, you NEVER hear anything from this guy anywhere. Like anywhere. Even his magnum Opus, Lose Yourself, played at the Oscars had everybody like… WTF were we thinking? What is this s—?
Those three years between 2000-2003, though, you couldn’t have found a better “last big thing” than him. Right look. Right age. Right backstory for the genre he was in. Credit where credit is due. he’s the most influential celebrity in his genre and maybe even in all of music. But artist? get the heck out of here.
Any other rapper coming out with, “Knees weak, arm’s heavy, mom’s spaghetti,” would have been laughed off any stage in America if they’d been black. It was A-up dumb.
The whitest flow, though, always sells more records. Cause people relate to that story.
Still can’t find him on a radio anywhere in America though because we all came to our senses.
PS Nick, you forgot to write Trump and tell him he’s the best President in history, too, so he doesn’t feel so bad about Obama getting the country 8 years of headrest.
You know these “kings.” They always need a subject.
