Kanye West went on a Twitter rant this past Saturday (July 30), posting several tweets about how the rivalry between streaming services — specifically TIDAL and Apple Music — is preventing music from thriving.
“This Tidal Apple beef is fucking up the music game,” he wrote in a series of tweets. “I need Tim Cook Jay Z Dez Jimmy Larry me and Drake Scooter on the phone or in a room this week!!! Fuck all this dick swinging contest. We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music. Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop trying to act like you Steve.”
Former G.O.O.D. Music signee Kid Cudi shared his thoughts on the tweets with a few of his own. “This is why the game is fucked up,” Cudi wrote while quoting his ex-label boss. “All this shit is wack. Bunch of rich guys on a power trip. This shit aint about music. Never has.The rich just wanna get richer. Spare me [flower emoji].” In a third tweet, he wrote: “The art is lost.”
The Cleveland rapper (and now actor) has been teasing two upcoming releases for 2016: Demons, Pain & Demon Slayin’ and another currently untitled project.

Apple is like a 38 years old company that has gone through its tough times. There was a time apple wasn’t worth the building they were operating from. Spotify is 11 years old. Tidal is like 3-4 years old.
The fact that’s it’s even a conversation let’s you know Tidals presence is not insignificant. Apart from Drake, Tidal has the rest of the highest selling black artists. (As well as some big sellers like Coldplay, Deadmau5, Kevin Harris etc) Tidal might not have the market share or money to match Apple or Spotify. But their control on music culture is huge with those artists. Let tidal grow
