Kanye West and Kid Cudi fans were treated to yet another collaboration from the Kids See Ghosts duo earlier this month, but the release apparently came as a complete surprise to the latter.
While interacting with fans on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday (August 25), Cudi admitted he had no idea that âGun to My Head,â a bonus track from Yeâs Vultures 2 album with Ty Dolla $ign featuring himself, had been released.

In response to a user who praised his vocal performance on the song, the Man on the Moon maestro wrote: âIts tasty. Hope Ye drops that one day.â
That prompted another fan to inform Cudi that the song was already out, catching the Cleveland native off guard.

âWhere??? I wanna hear I forgot what it sounds like [crying face emoji] I only heard it once since I recorded it when he played it that one time at the listening event,â Cudi replied.
After someone else told him that the song is available to buy on Kanyeâs website (but is seemingly âsold outâ), Mr. Rager wrote: âWhat da hell is he doin??? Haha ima talk to him.â

âGun to My Headâ is one of several bonus songs that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have released as part of various digital deluxe editions of Vultures 2.
Other deluxe tracks include âTake Off Your Dress,â âBeliever,â âDrunkâ featuring Kodak Black, Bad Bunny and Peso Pluma, and the Travis Scott-assisted âCan U Be.â

All of them are currently only available to purchase on Kanyeâs Yeezy website and have yet to be released on streaming services.
Kanye and Kid Cudi have remained prolific collaborators since first linking up in 2008, teaming up on songs like âGorgeous,â âMake Her Say,â âErase Me,â âGuilt Trip,â âFather Stretch My Hands, Pt. 2â and âNo Mistakes.â
They also released the joint album Kids See Ghosts in 2018.
However, their relationship outside of the studio has been anything but smooth as theyâve clashed numerous times over the years.
Their most bitter falling out came in 2022 when Kanye cut Cudi from Donda 2 over his friendship with comedian/actor Pete Davidson, who at the time was dating Kanyeâs ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

After trading shots with each other, the Lonely Stoner even declared that he would no longer work with Ye, tweeting: âI am not cool w that man. Heâs not my friend.â
The former G.O.O.D. Music labelmates eventually buried the hatchet at a Vultures listening party last year, with Cudi later revealing that Kanye apologized to him for their spat.

âThe reason we became cool again is he apologized to me. And it was sincere. I was like, âWow, Kanye does not apologize to anyone, he doesnât say sorry to anyone,'â he told Zane Lowe.
âThatâs my brother man, I know he loves me. Thereâs just nothing like Kanye and Cudi. We like the duo everybody loves to see.â
