    It. Is. Here.

Kendrick Lamar has released his fourth studio album in the form of DAMN. After it leaked online and caused much angst for die-hard TDE fans, it is officially available for purchase and streaming.

The 14-track project enlists Rihanna, U2 and frequent TDE collaborator Zacari as the only features. While he’s not credited, Kaytranada appears on “LUST.” The lead single for DAMN. was the Mike WiLL Made-It-produced “HUMBLE.”

Other production on the LP comes from 9th Wonder, Alchemist and even more Mike WiLL Made-It.

This is the follow-up to K-Dot’s Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly.

Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album is called DAMN., according to the TDE MC himself, who shared the cover art and tracklist to his Twitter page early Tuesday (April 11).

The cover art features the title boldly written in red with a picture of Cornrow Kenny wearing a simple white T-shirt and looking at the camera with an intense stare.

DAMN., which is due out Friday (April 14), is made up of 14 songs, including the lead single, “Humble.” Rihanna appears on a song called “Loyalty.” and U2 jumps on “XXX.” The international rock band was previously revealed to be on the credits when a bug for the iTunes page showed their contribution.

K-Dot’s “The Heart Part 4” didn’t make the cut, but the song will have its place in rap history as it put everyone on high alert for whatever he was dropping next. After speculation from the song that the album would come April 7, that date turned out to be when the iTunes pre-order for DAMN. dropped, which revealed the April 14 release date.

DAMN. will follow the Grammy-winning LP To Pimp a Butterflywhich received a perfect 5 rating from HipHopDX.

    1. kendrick looks like he is possesed or mad, is in the zone like saying: are those your rhymes?

    2. Awful cover and album title. I bet someone out there is trying to come up with some scientific meaning behind it.

    3. Well nothin special abt the track list, anyone listened to the songs yet, which are the bangin’ tracks…

    4. You can’t judge a Kendrick release off of his singles or the presentation. This is a concept album that has to be digested. We will let the music speak on Friday.

    5. Well, who knows with kendrick. Well know once we hear it!

Personally, with kendrick, sure he’s great at concept albums, but I’ve always wished he was more of a gangster rapper like schoolboy q, less concept, more fun. Don’t get me wrong, kendricks very talented and has made a huge mark in hiphop originality, but I’d love to have someone with his talent make a schoolboy q type album.

On that note, who else is super excited for Jon Connors album? I’ve been dying for a date on that.

        1. Nobody needs to care. Jon Connor is a killer on the mic, and will more than likely have prime dr dre production, along with features that could include eminem, kendrick, dre, and who knows, he’s so good, even Nas or Jay could show up. So I think with Connor it’s a no matter what hit. If the good doctor does you right, you’ll get it! Only time will tell though.

      1. been waiting on connor man since before he signed to aftermath shit i can’t wait vehicle city fly city you knoww

    6. This can’t be real! Kinda killing the excitement for the album and building it at the same time. I need some new music to listen to cause it’s been wack releases this year so far.

    7. Black hippy dead. Only kendrick & q poppin.
They shit on jay & soul.
Every tde album shoulda had a black hippy remix of something. Now nobody care anymore… i want to see humble black hippy remix
They f’d it up too much already Smh

      1. Logistically speaking you are right. Rappers never seem to complete the Trifecta ( Three classic albums in a row, even though this technically Kendrick’s 4th)

      1. Kendrick and Tyler are very much alike in a lot of ways than people realize, they are both talented weirdos it’s just that Tyler is your face with it while Kdot displays a lot more nuance

      1. Aye drizzy relax bro. Kendrick is hip hop. Your pop. Remember there’s a difference between an MC and a rapper

    8. This album must be hard. This is the most straight up rap album cover I have seen in recent times. It’s not flashy at all. Like they say don’t judge a book by its cover

        1. It is plain, but i think that’s the point of the cover. I’m sure his people had a large enough budget for a more artistic cover.

    9. Wack album cover, wack single. I need a better gimmick and single with future or Gucci to get my attention.

    10. So Hyped for this!!! So far this is exacly what i was hoping kendrick would do for this album. I was just telling a friend of mine the other day, Kendrick needs an album of straight up Bangers!! just hard as F$%@but still lyrical bangers. (HUMBLE. is a great lead single if this is the case) If he releases another TPAB, jazz/soul/funk fusion, and goes off politically again, i think we’d all be somewhat bored. He won’t ever top TPAB in my opinion, so what he needs to do is release an album of “Head knockers”. I can listen to him rap no matter what he does, but This will please both the critics and the fans.

      1. Look at the song titles. God, Lust, Love, Pride. A song with Rihanna and U2. I doubt they’ll be a lot of bangers on this. Off the song titles I’m getting sort of J. Cole Born Sinner vibe.

        1. I’d wait to listen before rushing to judgment. With that thought process, no one would’ve have thought HUMBLE. was going to be the banger it turned out to be.

          1. Not even sure why Humble is a banger. Yeah there is a message in it, but its the same simple ass trap beat we’ve heard a million times before. I guess thats what the fans want.

            1. Not modern trap, but sounds more like mid to late 2000’s trap which is not as bad as the stuff now. Its still a simple as beat we’ve heard a million times though…lol

        2. You may be right but
I just kinda hope he’s done with the jazz-funk fusion for a minute. TPAB will be considered a classic no doubt and I don’t think he can do that again so IMO his best bet is to go a little more GKMC.

    11. hopefully this is a Kansas City Shuffle. and he’s pump faking b/c he knows he’ll shut the internet down. Maybe he’ll reveal the true cover when it drops. however, Pre sales won’t stop tho lol

    12. some of ya’ll kill me with that ” he sound boring, this album is going to be boring” but you listen to rappers that talk about bitches, being lit, lean, clothes, but that never gets boring? i c ya’ll

      1. He’s largely viewed as the current best rapper alive. I doubt he’s desperate. Also, and it kills me I’m about to defend U2 but, Aerosmith was considered washed up when Run DMC worked with them for Walk This Way and it reviewed their careers.

      2. U2 can never be washed up, they can go on WORLD TOUR ANYTIME THEY WANT WITHOUT HAVING ANY NEW MUSIC OUT!!! Go listen to U2 bro, you will take back what you said, from the first album to now they have never taken a step back!!! Truly great musicians!!!

      1. So conscious equals weirdo in your book. Why does every Black person have to be a harlot or thug to be considered normal?

    13. One of the worst album.covers, but I’m interested in the music. I’m sure the bad cover is one purpose

    14. Better be that Good Kid MADD City vibe otherwise not even wanting to knock it. Barely crack 325k first week, can’t even come close to 6god!

    15. Not a U2 or Rihanna hater but I gotta be honest seeing that those are the only two features brings down my hype a little. I guess I’d prefer a no features album over those two choices. Can we get some black hippy features? Maybe throw Cole on there? Maybe something out of left field like Eminem or something? Hip hop drastically needs some classic collaborations. I get that he probably has a vision and a way he wants his album to go, but give the people what they want.

        1. U2 isn’t out of left field…it’s out of the stadium, different sport type shit. Haha, but what I meant is just some out of left field hip hop feature.

      1. “… give the people what they want.” That’s the thing, Kendrick is giving us what we want, we just don’t know it yet. Every single album he has surprised us with his sound and direction, but each album has been better than the last. GKMC and TPAB are both classics in my book.

        1. I see your point. It’s just not really what I want. I’m all for artists expressing, experimenting etc… I just really miss me some GKMC, Section 80, OVerly Dedicated Kendrick.

          1. Hell yeah G. I feel you on that. The kendrick style I love is GKMC and even more so prior. I LOVE section .80, and O.D. Such classics.

    16. Drake, Kendrick, and Cole seem to be this generation’s elite, a la Nas, BIG, Jay. That being said, I never got into Cole, even though we used to post on the same message board. He was “Therapist” back then. Kendrick also, never got into his stuff. Drake for me is hit or miss — I hate most of his radio stuff, love certain joints. Of the three, I like Drake’s stuff the most. All things considered: none of these three are as great as their 90s counterparts. But maybe I feel that way because I grew up back then. Just saying. Ultimately, I hope K Dot succeeds, but I’m just not interested. Peace.

        1. You’re actually WRONG. Think about it: If you like Drake the most, and he’s the most radio commercial of the 3, then yeah, you’re wrong and don’t have the mind to judge the other 2 fairly. And as far as comparing them to the 90’s counterparts….trust, I was there and they are direct lineage of 90’/80’s MC’s as far as Cole and K Dot is concerned. I like all 3, and they are the Elite 3, but you can’t say they aren’t comparable to the 90’s counterparts, and the 90’s Counterparts Love them as say they are. There’s opinion, then there’s FACTS. In this case, the FACTS is in the MUSIC/ALBUMS/SONGS. Think of why they’re the Elite 3.

          1. There are no facts to consider being that our little exchange is a matter of opinion. But go ahead with your “I’m right and you’re wrong attitude.” I think I got over that way of thinking in, oh, say, second grade. Good luck, pal.

    17. i am certain Kendrick will drop nothing but pure HEAT, but the album cover is horrendous.. the single cover to “Humble” was much better, this looks like something a cat with low photoshop skill would put together for a Kendrick compilation. but whatever, i guess the music is banging and ouf course it will be. Can’t wait!

    18. well hopefully this album will still be about the “black power” thing he supposedly had on TPAB… but i highly doubt it. he saw an op to use some social unrest to make some money. now thats gone as most suspected. everybody thought they had a real revolutionary on their hands.. WRONG!!!!

      1. You’re stupid as fuck. TPAB was not about making money. If he was about that he would have just made the album that everyone wanted with plenty of big singles. I didn’t even like TPAB but I don’t doubt his intentions at all. Kendrick put himself in position to lose it all by making that album. It barely went platinum. That album was a sacrifice. To hear someone say something so stupid makes me think Kendrick should just say fuck all you dummies and go the Drake route smh

    19. Didn’t even check for his last album. Heard Humble and its so catchy its been in my head for like 3 days straight. So I might actually check this out, and I haven’t really given Kendrick a listen since 2013, after that SchoolBoy and Ab Soul put out terrible sophomore albums (Oxy Moron and These Days) and I stopped checking for the crew and mostly only listen to underground shit.

      1. Actually Kendrick’s last album was good but not an album I play on repeat. It is like watching a good movie. The experience was good but not rushing out to watch it again anytime soon

      2. I thought oxymoron was Qs debut? These days did suck. Absoul hasn’t put out quality in a long time sadly. His last album doesn’t get any playback from me. Control systems where it’s at for Ab

    20. Drake is horrible big Sean is garbage only Two that is 90’s like are cole and Kendrick period it’s sad what is excepted today

    21. Apparently, DAMN is an acronym for one or all: D.rake A.int M.entioning N.ames, D.on’t, A.ssault M.y N.ame or D.ancing A.round M.y N.ame – Info from credible source

    22. Lol more like he just finished eating them! Can wait for this album hopefully he’s on his good kid maad city steez. Let’s go King Kunta!

    23. Fuck the cover this album is going to kill everything moving on Friday back to the basics with the album cover King kunta is out for blood on this go around I can’t wait and for the record big Sean nice

    24. Just gave it a full listen. This album is really really bad. Can’t believe he made this garbage. He’s using that awful flow and the lyrical depth is just missing.

    25. The album is up on iTunes. It’s trash. If you’re a fan of lil yachty and drake, you may like it. If you’re a fan of Section 80 and GKMC, this is clearly not for you. Kendrick, if you’re gonna diss Drake and Big Sean for being corny, it would help if you didn’t try to emulate them on your album.

      1. Shut up. You’re miserable man. You need to live life. Sitting around hating something for being a classic

        1. Let me get this straight. If I don’t like the album, and I give my opinion, that makes me a hater. Also, just because you think it’s a classic, no one is supposed to think anything else. You should take your own advice and live your own life instead of hating on me for giving my opinion.

      2. sir, you don’t go off callin sth trash. Could’ve easily said: I didn’t like the album. Meanwhile( my opinion), this album is pure emotion.

        1. Why not? It’s an album, and I think it is trash. Is an artist’s work above an honest opinion? I can understand why it would be wrong to say something like that about a person, but this is a commercial product and I as a consumer think it’s trash. Why do you think it’s necessary for me to censor my opinion?

    26. Just Listened to bits of this ablum dudes is wack as fuk his voice so dam annoying this is hims most trap swag sounding album to date he might have kill his career with this hot stanky garbage roosting in Death Valley on a 120 degree day S M H. I will never understand the hype for him I guess his is signed to Dr Dres lable that is all. I have been listening to rap hiphop since 1988 Lupe is the best of the Trap Swag Radio Rap era.

    27. I never thought I would say this about a Kendrick album, but i’m very disappointed with this shit.

    28. Not a bad song on the album. Pure hiphop. King Kendrick did it again. Classic. Fuck who disagrees. Go listen to Drake and Uzi.

    29. I like it better playing it from the end to the beginning. It’s a good album. So kendrick studies the hebrew israelite doctrine hmm. Everyone has their own path. I’m a MAAT man myself.

    30. homie look like a pure junkie on the cover …i dont know how he gets away wit that type of sh!t hes highly overrated if u ask me..he proly sell bout 500,000 but thats only because of all that streaming bs that exists today smh…if people counted physical copy alone he sell half at best.

      more life is a classic
      i decided is a classic
4 your eyez only is a classic
      damn. bullsh!t

      1. I decided is the worst album of the year. Big Sean doesn’t deserve to be in the same genre as kendrick, he’s light years ahead of him.

    31. It’s more straightforward, a little less “artsy,” but make no mistake, DNA, FEAR, DUCKWORTH YAH & ELEMENT? Shiiit, I’ll put those up against anything he’s ever done in his career, he was acting up on them joints. And sonically this knocks way harder than any of his previous work, shit is dope…

    32. GKMC is a classic. TPAB is artistry in its own way. But DAMN is average. Not bad. Not good. Just average. Some tracks are dope (DNA, YAH, FEEL, HUMBLE, LOVE and FEAR), but I ain’t feeling the rest of the album. 3/5

    33. Dude thinks he’s deeper than he really is. Nas went thru that phase too.. He’s talented 100%, but I’ve never found any of his albums to be better than “good”. He’s considered great by the same generation that gave Rick Ross a pass…………….

    34. I’m a Drake d*ck rider so fuck a pure hip hop album. Shit’s boring and self righteous. I hope it flops

    35. Kendrick a fool for DNA! Brought life back in the game. That track alone shows he’s on another level than Cole, Drake, Sean, and Meek. Still listening to the album so I won’t judge it in its entirety just yet.

    36. French Montana’s Mac Cheese 4 is better than Kendricks new album. Notice how Kendrick is moving away from the funk and jazz beats to southern trap beat on this new album.

As a matter of fact, I have a feeling 2017 will be the year that French Montana takes over hiphop. Everyone is bored of Drake, Kendrick and J Cole — French Montana is going to hold the title for a minute!

      1. French Montana isn’t taking over anything….i must give him credit for his ear for beats though. Him and Harry fraud have made it happen…but coming back full circle, he isn’t taking over anything……

    37. ima just go ahead and spill the beans because it seems like most of yall won’t get this off top. this album is not meant to be played from the beginning to the end, that’s why kendrick dies in the intro. play the album backwards, meaninng not track 1-14 but 14-1. the album will sound way more cohesive and will make x1000 more sense. trust. “is it wickedness ? is it weakness? you decide, whether we live or die”. like all of kendricks albums there is a special message for the listeners in DAMN. and i hope this helps those in search for that meaning. god bless

      1. Yes this is what I was saying. Listen from 14 to 1. Its kinda similar to how Lupe formatted Tetsuo and Youth.

    38. Drake fans need to stop putting all these fake comments out here talking about the album is garbage!!! SERIOUSLY, DRAKE FANS ARE PATHETIC!!! Drake need to stop letting Big Sean write his raps, its getting obvious!!!

    39. At first i thought it was ok but now I think it’s a excellent album. That pride song sounds like something him and Eminem need to do a remix with.

    40. I Love Kendrick all we wanted was another bitch don’t kill my vibe or money trees hiipower type of songs but massive let down bruh maybe it’ll grow on me but I know I’m nlot the only one that feels this way anyways thanks king Kendrick

    41. All lives matter. Just not to each other apparently. Being black and from Chicago I see firsthand that we are the only ones killing ourselves daily, not whites. Also, whites aren’t the ones that enslaved us it was our own people that did that to us. African warlords sold us to the whites and Spanish. These are hard honest facts we all have to learn to live and deal with.

      1. LOL. You said this a while ago under a different name. You were exposed then as a fraud lol

        1. It’s obviously some racist troll. I mean, look at how hard he tries to pin slavery solely on Africans. That’s some Stormfront-level stupidity.

      2. Whats up with these racist White boys making comments on here all the time. Its like they enjoy Black culture yet they don’t respect the people that created. They’re also so arrogant to where they want to control it just so they can be comfertable. i

    42. Kendrick ain’t even in the top 5 of 2017:

      Here are my top picks:

      1. Future
      2. Swae Lee
      3. Kodak Black
      4. Havoc (of Mobb Deep)
      5. Guwop

This album is soft as Marshmellows, seriously, only women listen to Kendrick Lamar.

    43. LOL. You said this a while ago under a different name. You were exposed then as a fraud lol

    44. Fool u crazy. Yachty is on some elementary dr suess type shtzz. He is a cartoon rapper. He cant f with kendrick on kens worse day. Please have ur mom or dad school you on the art of rap asap!! Sincerely an old head!

    45. Fuck all that shit this album is amazing I listen to it how it attended to be listen to from beginning to end and will jam it for a while and as far as lil boat he has his fan base it’s just not me he’s not for everyone and that’s fine do u new generation I stick to lyrics and substance

    46. although this album is KING KENDRICK’s most radio-friendly album,….it still goes hard……I’m loving it..

    47. I’m gonna go with: A.) You’re a troll (very likely); or B.) Your skallywag mother dropped you on your head while she was toppin one of her johns off one too many times. I’m going w/ B.

    48. I like Kendrick but his sound has become too neo-soulish. I want hip-hop man, not poetry stuff. He’s talented tho

    49. Just finished listening to it… Not going to do that again anytime soon. Too radio-friendly for my taste, simply not good.

    50. Theres 2-3 songs I like the rest is BS. Kendrick started SINGING over trap beats…thats been the trend now in the Industry. I actually couldn’t believe my ears. Stop singing you are not a singer.

    51. I have never written a comment on this shit in my life. This album though.
IF TPAB was a 5 of 5 then this one is a 10. Dot’s best so far to me. As with the people saying it is too radio. What are you smokin. GKMC had way more singles than this will for sure.
Content wise it is perfect and hard as hell. Way more rapping than any of his major releases so far.
This is the real rap record from kendrick that I was hoping to get after section 80. Finally here. Keep em comin. I don’t care how many experimental shits you gotta put out in between as long as you keep comin with shit like this.
In time this will go down as one of the best rap albums made. Pretty Much perfect.
      Cons
The only bad things about this album are sonically and quality of production. They need to have dre in there just to make sure this shit comes out sounding good over a broad spectrum of listening devices. I can’t make this album sound great on any system so far. Just does not hit right and feels tubby in the upper low frequencies. There are some audio students looking for a final project that could mix this better.
I love the content, tones, instrumentation and all. They just are not blended well. Some major phase issues.
It is like they let the guy that did the art work mix the album too.
I can understand the ugly simple cover and get past that but damn I need to hear someone of this caliber with much more clarity. I am all about lo fi and weird rough sounding mixes like Nx Wxrries and some madlib shit or whatever. It is obvious that that is not what they are trying to do with this though. They are obviously going for a more polished sound and just not achieving it.
Please tell TDE to stop cuttin costs and get some real talent on your production crew and visual department. The video does look good though. Yall can keep fuckin with that guy. Whoev mixed this and mastered it has got to change though.

      1. You talked about everything but the songs. The only song that came close to being on Section 80 is Track 5. Everything else is mediocre. I really dont feel the tracks where he’s singing, and he’s singing a lot! How can you ignore the singing? He used to be a trend setter but now hes following the trends and imitating singing-rappers. I really wish he would produce another Section 80 but that will never happen. What exactly are you listening to? An MP3? That’s always going to sound shitty but I also hear the same problem you heard. The mixing is shit. Especially when it comes to Track 8 (Humble) you can hear Kendricks vocals degrading to shit compared to the other songs. This is more like a 3 out of 5. Its not a 2 bc its Kendrick Lamar, but he has better shit out there for sure. I should’ve known something weird is happening to him when he released UNTITLED UMASTERED.

        1. The mixing on this album is incredible. You’re trippin. Idk what you listened to. You seem like you have a very limited musical scope. You want another section 80 WAAAHHHHHHH. Expand your horizons yo….

    52. I thought I would never say this but so far the best albums Hip Hop albums this year is Lupe Drogas, J Cole 4 your eyes, Raekwon, and Joey Badass. I thought Lupe’s album was mediocre but compared to Kendrick, Lupe has a better album. Raekwon album straight up shits all over this one. Joey badass album is way better than this. I must say Kendrick let me down with this one. I dont think we will hear another Section 80 from him again. He needs to go back to the “Strange Music formula” like Overly Dedicated and Section 80, not this weird shit.

      1. J Cole’s album was extremely mediocre. Wow I disagree so much lol

        1. Lupe song Made in America and the song with TY$ blasts everything on Kendricks album. Facts are facts. Raekwon album is a masterpiece compared to DAMN. Yall dickride way too much.

      2. Go ahead and namedrop Rick Ross, Big Sean and Lil Uzi. You a moron, ain’t you? DROGAS light was Lupe’s worst album ever, maybe it’s cuz i expected more from him after hearing the masterpiece Tetsuo and Youth was. J. Cole fell off hard after Forest Hills Drive, 4YEO is like Massacre compared to GRoDT: Same formula, weak execution. Joey Badass had a concept, he had an idea, and a good flow, but his thoughts on politics are so basic he sounds like a high school kid who watches CNN too much. Don’t get wrong, I hate Trump, I fuckin hate FOX and the republican propaganda but Joey clearly doesn’t know how to stand against them. He can shout FDT better than YG does, but he still has a lotta room for improvement. “DAMN.” is deeper than what you think. His pragmatic take on religion and his good-as-ever delivery made ‘DAMN.’ a great album. He didn’t throw the concept right into the listener’s face like he did in TPAB and GKMC, he chose to hide it this time… “What happens on earth stays on earth”.

    53. DAMN this album sucks… this is like the Compton soundtrack, hyping the wackness. This album will be quickly forgotten about like Dre Compton
