Kendrick Lamar’s Album Production Credits Feature U2

While fans may still have another grueling week to wait for Kendrick Lamar’s next studio album, details on the project are gradually coming to light.

Thanks to a clever Reddit user who pre-ordered the album, the production credits for Kendrick’s currently untitled album have been made public.

If the credits are in fact correct, fans can expect tunes from 9th Wonder, The Alchemist, Mike WiLL Made It, and more.

The members of Irish rock band U2 are also listed on the production credits, although it’s unclear if the group assisted with production, are getting sampled, or contributed some other element to K-Dot’s album.

Sounwave, the TDE in-house producer who helped craft the likes of Kendrick’s “m.A.A.d city” and ScHoolboy Q’s “There He Go,” is listed on the credits as well.

Toronto instrumental group BADBADNOTGOOD, known most recently for providing the soundtrack for Snoop Dogg’s controversial anti-Trump “Lavender” remix video, are also listed.

Hours ago, after speculation that Kendrick would drop his latest effort today (April 7), the true release date for his album came via an iTunes pre-order page. The new date to mark on the calendar is April 14.

The production credits for Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming album are below.

    1. Kendrick and U2? Crossover material? Sell out shit? Fuckin Wiz Khalifa Maroon 5 bullshit and this the G.O.D? This is the G.O.A.T as you youngsters say? GTFOH! Go listen to some Ras Kass or Doom or some Planet Asia. Go find some raw shit. Fuck this sellout b.s ya’ll support real hip hop! This dude got millions and just fiendin for more of your hard earned money. Cant even make an album for his fans. All about that “radio play” shit sad

        1. Why do I need to hear it? You think a Kendrick Lamar song with Blink 182 would be dope? How it any different? Dude just tryin to get that crossover mainstream top 40 airplay. He dont give a fuck about his fans obviously. Its all about cash money. Thats what keeps “the machine” going. If he doesnt get enough sales eventually Interscope will drop that wack ass label and thell be back to the teue indie game

          1. Were you yelling “sellout” when Run DMC and Aerosmith did “Walk This Way”? Or when Public Enemy and Anthrax did “Bring the Noise”? How about when Korn and Ice Cube did two songs together? Nas also did a song with Korn, what about him? Wu-Tang had John Frusciante from RHCP and George Harrison’s son, Dhani, playing guitar on “Heart Gently Weeps”, anything to say to them? How about when Rakim was on a song with Linkin Park? Some of your favorite “real hip hop” rappers have done rap-rock crossover songs. Stop with the double standards.

            1. All those songs you mentioned are garbage and every real hip hop fan would agree with me. You like that crap cause they made it for rap/rock crossover bitchs like yourself

            2. Whether I like those songs or not is not what I’m getting at. Are they sell-outs, yes or no? Stop giving off topic replies.

          2. people said he was going to sell out when he dropped “i” but ya’ll were wrong as fuck. calm your bum ass down

          3. All the Bandcamp/Soundcloud/independent rappers out there in need of support and you’re worried about a guy who just made one of the “Blackest” albums of all-time expanding his sound and selling out? You expect a casual music fan to suddenly be interested in underground Hip Hop? Get real, brother. Just make sure you’re doing your part in supporting the artists you feel passionate about and drop the ideology that everybody is supposed to be on the same platinum playing field.

            1. So im supposed to believe that cause he made a strong black power song he gets a pass for making a song wih an irish rock band? What planet are you Trent? Your so gassed over Kendrick and Cole they cant do any wrong in your eyes. You want to talk about the “casual” listner and what appeals to them? Yeah of course you do cause you promote watered down garbage and your fan base loves it. Most people that come this site know its a joke. If it was on point you wouldnt have all these people bashing DX in the comment sections 24/7 I go on Ughh everyday and nobody hates on them. Spin magazine doesnt have a bunch of comments from people complaining about the staff. You just cant expect that Kendrick is just an average rapper with an over-sized fan base. He is MAINSTREAM! Hate it or not. Just cause he has a political agenda doesnt mean hes not a sell out. The only reason to collab with a “white” rock group is for sales. You think its gonna be a classic? Gtfoh! All the songs mentioned above also P.E/Antrax Run D.MC/Areosmith all lost there play value along time ago. You think when someone wants tobhear some impowering verses from Chuck D. they throw on Bring Tha Noize? Yeah right! Ya’ll some damn sheep! Time to go back The Source no Big Pun intended

            3. Nobody said anything about “empowering verses”, this is about rap/rock crossovers in general. You were calling Kendrick a sellout for making songs with rock groups when some of your real rappers have done the same thing and all you say is “they lost their play value a long time ago, no one listens to those songs for empowering verses”. How about you GTFOH! before you keep digging yourself a deeper hole?

      1. All of this…From the album credits? Not the song titles, not the music itself, but from the…Credits? You know all of that from the credits? Man GTFOH

      2. Lol stop hating and comparing U2 to some Maroon 5 bullshit. “War” album from 1983 is probably one of the best albums ever

      1. 9th wonder and alchemist are both better than dre. Obvioulsly dre has the classics, but if you talking whose better in 2017 if go with 9th wonder then alchemist then dre way behind.

    2. Kendrick fails to get Dre beats on here, AGAIN. But gets stale ass 9th Wonder and racist Alan on here. Greeeeaaat…

      1. Idiot. Why do you call Alchemist racist? Is it because of Blu’s rantings (which were clearly the work of a mentally unhinged individual)?

    3. He probably just sample u2 how n the fuck is it selling out Kendrick Lamar is the truth his lyrics always on point better than most of this clowns out now but I just wish he could’ve done something with westside gunn and conway because they’re nice

    4. Kendrick and AL!!! 9th could be interesting….good looks on Mike will…people act like trap producers are one dimensional and can only create waves for migos to ride…check sky fall by Travis Scott…(metro boomin)…I am more interested now than I was after hearing humble

    5. And he not leaving t.d.e and dre let’s him do his thing he don’t always need Dre for beats Dre still gets paid because he still an aftermath artist too I can’t wait for this album he giving them today to drop something before king kunta drop next week expected sells #1 off top

      1. LOl what the fuck aren’t u talking about. Kendrick hasn’t had single dr dre production on any of his albums… ever.

Also, kendricks TDE contract has him for 5 albums, aka 1 more after this one. So I figure dr dre, Aftermath, is waiting for him to be out of TDE to drop his dooest music with dre productions as they’ll make the most money that ways

You think it’s just a coincidence that kendrick hasn’t been on a dr dre production after 3 damn albums lol?

    6. Would have liked a London on da track and metro booming beat on this album but I’m copping for sure. Kdot sounds dope on trap beats listen to perfect pint.

    7. Duckworth the name alone is fucking comedy. No wonder he went with Kendrick Lamer and left out his last name. Kendrick Duckworth! Thats ya boy though! Lol

      1. That’s all you got now, is making fun of his last name? Got no more solid debates left in you? You are the weakest link, good bye.

    8. Kendrick didn’t meet a white person until after he dropped a record, and now he’s working with U2. Regardless of if it’s a sample (Joshua Tree hopefully) or a feature, I don’t see why it would be necessary, as they benefit from it more than Kendrick these days. Anyone remember that bullshit where they put the U2 album on everyones iphone without asking? Fuckery! Do you think that would be possible with a new Public Enemy album? No, because they are BLACK artists. End rant – Angry Gold Coast Australian
