J. Cole’s “4 Your Eyez Only” Is Half-Way Platinum With No Features

    J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only album is certified gold, according to the RIAA. This means the North Carolina rapper’s fourth studio LP sold 500,000 units and is half-way to being certified platinum with no features.

4 Your Eyez Only debuted at the top of Billboard’s 200 albums chart when it dropped last month and all 10 tracks charted in the Top 40 of the Hot 100 list.

Cole’s last album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, was certified platinum with no features in 2015 and was the first project in 25 years to sell one million units without a listed guest appearance. It has since gone double platinum.

Other certifications listed by the RIAA include Joey Bada$$’s “Devastated” single going gold with half a million units. This is the independent artist’s first plaque. Casey Veggies also gets his first certification with a gold nod for his “Tied Up” single.

Gold plaques also go to French Montana and Drake’s “No Shopping,” Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps” and “3500,” Kehlani’s “Gangsta,” Kevin Gates’ “Time for That,” Lil Uzi Vert’s “You Was Right” and Russ’s “What They Want.”

Platinum certifications go out to Young Thug and Travis Scott for “Pick Up the Phone” and 21 Savage and Metro Boomin for “No Heart.”

Future picks up a handful of nods as “Rich $ex,” “Thought It Was a Drought” and “Trap Niggas” are certified gold while “Stick Talk” is platinum and his collaboration with Drake “Where Ya At” is double platinum.

Oh, and Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” with Charlie Puth is officially seven times platinum, selling seven million units.

          1. I find it a bit bland as well but he clearly appeals to the female demographic. I feel like this album has been way overhyped. It’s ok. It’s “solid”. But I never find myself thinking “man I’m really in the mood for some 4 Your Eyez Only right now!”

    1. I still cant get over the fact that wiz get so much credit for thay song. That charlie dude made that song. Wiz blows balls

    2. Why is it that when I turn on the radio they are still playing “Role Models”? Oh, that’s right, after the initial interested the substance of the album couldn’t last. No features and no classic music. “hjjgfjdfjjdkd” was right… after it’s first week the album should be Platinum by now!

    3. It’s because we all fall asleep streaming it and it just stays on repeat. That’s a good way to get 3 streams from everyone. Make your fans pass out with the headphones on haha

    4. Cole makes music that the average person can relate too and understand. He wants you to listen to the story and understand the meaning of the song or album. I believe 4 your eyes only is not as mainstream as 2014 forest hills but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is still great music and great storytelling.

    5. He already has a fan base that will buy his music whether it’s hot or not so this no features nonsense means nothing. If he wasn’t well known then of course it’s a huge deal, but he’s a big name in hip hop now so it doesn’t matter if he has features or not. The album was above average but nowhere near great, so if anything that would be the thing that surprised me about going platinum, not the fact there are no features. Maybe he should have had features, could have made the album fire because he couldn’t carry the whole thing this time around.

    6. The whole no features thing is getting played out. Your Eyez was begging for some features to give it some life. One thing Cole can claim is having the most well rested fans in hip hop.
