Producer Kev Brown announced on Monday that he will be selling original instrumentals for only $200. A member of Low Budget Productions, which consists of Kenn Starr, Oddisee [click to read], and other members, Brown contributed to DJ Jazzy Jeff’s The Magnificent [click to read] in ’02, and gained positive critical recognition for his Jay-Z inspired project, The Brown Album in ’04. In other news, Hip Hop Karaoke NYC is throwing their third annual Biggie Smalls Tribute Night this week in Brooklyn. The event will help to celebrate the legacy and commemorate the life of the late rapper who died on March 9, 1997. The show will begin at 10:30 on Friday night at the Southpaw Club on 125th Ave. Attendees pay $5 with a flyer, and $8 without.

Although the night is not restricted to only Biggie songs, everyone who performs a B.I.G. track is automatically eligible for a $100 first prize, a $50 second prize, and other prizes for runner ups.
