Even before his seminal solo album Sex Style and subsequent Spankmaster [click to read], Kool Keith [click to read] has often rhymed about sex, pornography and his deep appreciation for the female figure. Yesterday, the Ultramagnetic MC’s frontman told HipHopDX that he’s taking those passions further, with the launch of a film company and a lingerie line.

I’m doing my clothing line and my porno line,” began a relaxed Keith yesterday evening of his KK Fashion brand. “I’m basically traveling and stuff,” he said of his upcoming tour with longtime producer Kutmasta Kurt. “I’m looking for up and coming talent, instead of the normal talent that you always see out there – talent that we get monotonous with, the same girls in all the same magazines, porn boxes. I’m tryin’ to work on upcoming talent. That’s my thing; I’m gonna scoop some ethnic talent, and take it to another level.

The bi-coastal rapper added his need for new clothing in adult films, a void he hopes to fill. “I’m tired of the porn – even in amateur movies and stuff like that, I’m tired of the apparel. It’s time for new apparel. It’s time for other things, and other coordinations in fashion. I’m also doing a soundtrack [to the KK Films] of unreleased records and stuff like that to go along with it.

Interested parties can email KK Films pictures and information at kkadultfilmstar@gmail.com.

I want [interest parties] to shoot an email. Definitely, there are places that a lot of people don’t have an outlet, as far as they’re not in New York City and not in California. I want to touch people who possibly can’t be reached by a person or scout out there. We’re an outlet so that you can be notified and reached.Keith said that while he welcomes interested talent to meet him on tour, non-tour market talent can contact him through that email.

The film will reportedly be called KK & B-Serious Volume 1.

Secondly, Keith spoke on his appearance on the N.A.S.A. The Spirit of Apollo album, appearing alongside famed avant-garde singer Tom Waits, in the song “Spacious Thoughts.” “It’s a very interesting project. There’s a lot of artists on that album collaborating that are different,” said Keith of the album that features Hip Hop heavyweights such as Kanye West, Scarface and Ghostface Killah as well as Talking HeadsDavid Byrne, The Yeah Yeah YeahsKaren O and M.I.A.

That’s a good album. With Tom Waits, it’s just like a cross with Rock-meets-Rap. His type of music, his type of thing that he does, and myself the way I rap [meshes nicely]. We’re gonna see what happens. When I heard the song, it’s incredible. The N.A.S.A. organization, the people, they came up with some great ideas to get a lot of top artists out there to collaborate and do these records together. Basically, I’ve been doing that for years. That’s a big thing now, unpredictable collaborations,” added Keith about his previous collaborations including Roger Troutman, Princess Superstar and ’90s Electronic outfit Prodigy.

The emcee added that fans can look forward to multiple projects from him this year, as he takes the road to tour his recently-released Dr. Doom 2 [click to read] project.
