After a brief delay,Joey Bada$$ will finally release his highly-anticipated 2000 album on Friday (July 22), and the Brooklyn rapper has just unveiled the project’s cover art and tracklist.

The official sequel to Joey’s breakout 1999 mixtape will contain 14 tracks and feature appearances from Diddy, Westside Gunn, Larry June, Chris Brown, JID and Capella Grey. It will be the 27-year-old’s first solo effort since 2017’s All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.

“My new album ‘2000’ drops this Friday (7/22/22),” Joey wrote on Instagram while sharing the tracklist. “Very proud to share this body of work with you all. Thank you to everyone involved features and production wise, thank you to my management team, my label and my friends and family who have lent me countless ears and constructive criticism.”

The latest reveal comes after Joey Bada$$ had to postpone the release of the album by more than a month because of clearance issues.

Man I got some terrible news,” the 27-year-old wrote on Twitter. “My album won’t be coming out tonight due to sample clearance issues. Right now, it’s unclear how long I’ll have to postpone it but my hope is no more than 2 weeks. I wanted to have a new date before I told you guys but it’s out of my control.”

Shortly after Joey’s announcement, Drake announced the imminent surprise release of his seventh studio album Honestly, Nevermindand fans began speculating that Joey delayed the project because he didn’t want to go toe-to-toe with Drizzy.

“Y’all thinking I pushed my album back because drake is comedy,” Joey Bada$$ later said on Twitter. “Can’t say I ain’t happy tho hahaha. I found out I had to push my shit back a week ago. Only reason I waited to last minute to say something was because I was hoping to get a new date for y’all instead of just leaving y’all hanging but I’m still not in the clear yet.”

He tried to satisfy his fan’s hunger for new music by dropping off a few new singles in the weeks since the delay. He first dropped off “Highs & Lows” with Chance the Rapper, and earlier in July, he shared the Ab-Soul-assisted “Survivors Guilt,” which pays homage to his late Pro Era affiliate Capital STEEZ, who died by suicide in 2012. Following the latter release, Joey then announced the new date of July 22.
