One of the men authorities believe is responsible for the 2002 murder of Run-DMC legend Jam Master Jay is reportedly the same person accused of killing 2Pac affiliate Randy “Stretch” Walker. According to court documents obtained by VladTV, Ronald Washington — who’s currently behind bars awaiting trial — was the main suspect in Walker’s 1995 murder.
Prosecutors claimed there are three witnesses who could testify Washington was the triggerman during a car chase in which Stretch’s brother, Christopher “Majesty” Walker, was the intended target. They also said another person who was in the car with Washington when the shooting occurred would’ve evoked his Fifth Amendment rights if called to the stand.
Despite identifying Washington as a suspect in the early 2000s, he’s never been charged. Prosecutors included the case when arguing for a hefty prison sentence for Washington in a 2007 federal robbery case, but a judge refused to listen.
Washington and co-defendant Karl Jordan, Jr. were indicted on charges of murder in 2020. Washington was already serving a federal prison sentence for robbery, while Jordan was taken into custody on August 16 of that year. Acting US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Seth DuCharme announced a grand jury had returned an incitement alleging the two defendants were responsible for the Jamaica, Queens slaying on October 30, 2002.

“They shot him in cold blood,” DuCharme said in a press conference at the time. “Our office along with our federal partners and the NYPD started working that case in the early 2000s, very soon after the murder and there were a lot of challenges that we faced right away. In fact, one of the first cases that I worked on when I was here as a prosecutor in 2008 was this very case. These gentleman and our team were able to accomplish what I was frankly not then able to accomplish.
“It’s really through their hard work and the work of the Queens cold case detectives squad, the FBI who was with us at the outset and the ATF who had joined us along the way, really, really never gave up on this case. It was important to us then and it remains extremely to us now to bring justice to the victim, his family and his friends and the community that cared so much about those events.”
Jam Master Jay was reportedly killed over $1.7 million worth of cocaine. As ACB7 Newsreported, he was planning to exclude Washington from a large multi-state drug deal, so Washington and Jordan conspired to carry out the murder. While inside the studio on that fateful day, Washington allegedly pointed his firearm at another person inside 24/7 Studio and ordered them to lay on the floor. Jordan then allegedly approached JMJ, aimed his weapon at him and fired two shots at close range, striking him once in the head.” He was just 37.

The trial was originally scheduled for September but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed to February 2023. The trial is expected to last two weeks. As for Stretch, he linked up with ‘Pac in the 1990s. The 27-year-old rapper/producer — who also appeared as an extra in the 1992 film Juice starring Tupac Shakur — was shot and killed on November 30, 1995, exactly one year after the duo broke up.
As to what led to their breakup, 2Pac accused Stretch of not “riding” for him when he was shot while going to meet Jimmy Henchman. As he explained to The Source in 1996, “Stretch was my closest dog, my closest homie. I did a lot of drama, I got into a lot of cases and shit because of Stretch. Money-wise, he could’ve had anything. His daughter was my daughter; whatever she wanted she could have.
“Then this shit happened and the n-gga didn’t ride for me. He didn’t do what your dog is supposed to do when you shot up. When I was in jail, n-gga never wrote me, never got at me. His homeboys was coming to see me and he wasn’t coming to see me. And he started hanging around Biggie right after this. I’m in jail, shot up, his main dog, and he hanging out going to shows with Biggie. Both these n-ggas never came to see me.”

2Pac, of course, was murdered just months later in September 1996 at the age of 25. His murder remains technically unsolved.
