DJ Green Lantern, former deejay
for multi-platinum artist Eminem and current Def Jam signee, was picked
by Rockstar Games to create a custom radio station for the video game
Grand Theft Auto.
He recently told Reuters, “It’s
such a big platform, first of all, (and) the chance to do something
that’s a first. It’s based in a New York-type of setting, so I can use
my artist relationships and go make songs for this particular mood that
I’m trying to achieve.” The official soundtrack for GTA, featuring
music from the game along with eight new songs will be drop May 19th.
Green Lantern also threw his
turntables in the political arena by creating a BarackObama mixtape that
dropped before the recent HSAN event in Philadelphia [click here to read].
“I got a big political mixtape coming out that I can’t speak on right now ‘cause this is a non-partisan event. But Google me and one of the candidates names and you’ll see who it is,” said Green, at the event last week.
