Eli Fross and Sleepy Hallow dropped a new music video for their collaboration “Steppas Freestyle” on Wednesday afternoon (January 5) and in turn held it down for their incarcerated Winners Circle member Sheff G.
The Nimi Hendrix-directed video features both Winners Circle members as they relax on a colorful photoshoot and spit bars alongside twerking women and fancy cars. The new visual comes on the heels of Fross’s latest mixtape The Book of Eli, which dropped on December 15 and is produced entirely by Winners Circle producer Great John. The project features Lil Zay Osama, Bankroll Buna and of course Sleepy Hallow. Fross also just wrapped up a tour with the latter as part of his Still Sleep? Tour.
The pair’s video is meant in part as a shoutout to Sheff G, the collective’s missing member who in October was sentenced to two years behind bars for criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. On Saturday (January 1) the 2021 HipHopDX Rising Star shared a new shirtless photo to Instagram, showing fans he remains in good spirits while incarcerated.
“Happy Blue Years. I AINT YA REGULAR G MEMBER EVERYBODY KNOW IM SANCTION. #FREEME #AYOOOCIIID #TENTOES,” Sheff G’s caption read.

Fross is not without legal woes of his own. The Crown Heights rapper was arrested last summer on attempted murder charges after video surfaced of him shooting at a motorcyclist and his friend. According to the New York Daily News, Fross’ Mercedes accidentally clipped them while in traffic between Seventh Avenue and W. 41st Street in Manhattan around Times Square. His bail was set at $100,000 but shortly after his arrest, the money was paid in full and he was released.
