Even while behind bars, Sheff G is blessing his fans with new music on Thursday (September 23) which also happens to be his 23rd birthday. The drill music Sargeant returned with the pensive “Drum Dummy” and an accompanying animated visual.

The Brooklyn native rides the somber Great John production and ruminates about his wins and losses throughout his life’s journey.

“Yeah they left me, the same ones, they turnin’ back now/Love to see my family happy, shit we blessed now/Yeah we blessed now, remember we was stressed out/Hundred K just for this necklace, this bitch two-toned, n-gga/She just pull up, get to neckin’, shit we too grown for this/Took some losses, I’m still winnin’, I’ma keep on winning,” he raps.

Sheff G — born Michael Williams — was arrested on July 17 for illegal gun possession, which is a second-degree felony in New York City. The 2021 HipHopDX Rising Star was denied bail and remains locked up at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center in East Elmhurst, New York.
