Anyone familiar with the FOX singing competition series The Masked Singer knows the premise — celebrities sing songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities while a celebrity panel of judges try to figure out who they are.

Much like the finale of the show, Snoop Dogg has just had an unveiling of his own. On Monday (September 20), the multi-hyphenate star began to trend on Twitter after he unmasked himself as the person behind the popular NFT Twitter account Cozomo de’ Medici.

Snoop Dogg made the announcement with what appeared to be a simple tweet that read, “I am @CozomoMedici.”

But upon further exploration, the game to uncover the identity of the person behind the Cozomo de’ Medici account actually kicked off hours before Snoop Dogg made the reveal.

“Dear frens,” the first tweet read. “Since I announced my dox, events have transpired most would not believe, nor understand. What I can share is I’ve received an outpouring of kindness here on twitter. And many say they prefer to know me as Cozomo, and no one else!

“So here is what I’ve decided to do: Shortly, as promised, I will dox from my personal account. As my fame is considerable, the tweet will no doubt be discovered. Those who are curious to my identity will soon know it. Those who do not care, or simply prefer not to know the source of my vast fame and fortune, may simply not research. I will keep this account focused on NFTs, and not mention this again here.”

The thread continued, “To make this more fun, I have decided I will gift one random person who finds and shares the tweet, 1 ETH from the Medici Vault.”

The fact Snoop Dogg has thrown his hat in the NFT ring was no surprise to longtime fans. The West Coast rap legend has built a career on not only music but also his many television endeavors, movie roles, endorsement deals and position as Def Jam Recordings’ Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant, which he announced in June.

More recently, Snoop became a brand ambassador for the Dutch denim company G-Star Raw. The company unveiled its “Say It Witcha Booty” campaign on Tuesday (September 14) with the D-O-Double-G posing in G-Star RAW threads. He also rapped a few bars on the accompanying “Say It Witcha Booty” single with lines such as, “Fe Fi Fo Fum, I’m watching it go dumb/Hip’s wiggling, yeah I’m diggin’ it.”

According to Rolling Stone, G-Star RAW’s CMO Gwenda Van Vliet noted Snoop Dogg was a “true original,” making him the perfect person to enlist for the campaign. Van Vliet wanted to work with the 49-year-old because he “is always staying ahead, reinventing himself and he dares to cross genres. Bringing different worlds together is something that is true to us, and to Snoop.”
