Kanye West may have missed his previously reported release date for his highly anticipated DONDA album but according to longtime collaborator Consequence, there’s a bigger plan in play.

On Saturday (July 24), Cons once more sparked up the cold war between ‘Ye and longtime frenemy Drake, bringing up the Toronto rapper’s oft-delayed Certified Lover Boy album and hoping for a potential massive Verzuz-like event with Swizz Beatz.

“We looking for @drake drop date,” Consequence tweeted. “@THEREALSWIZZZ Line It Up!!! #DropYaLo.”

The delays for DONDA and Certified Lover Boy are the latest chapter in ‘Ye and Drizzy’s longstanding feud. Since 2009, the two have been embroiled in a cold war of being friends and enemies, culminating in sneak disses, rants, an alleged relationship with West’s soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian and more.

When Drake appeared on the Rap Radar Podcast in 2019, he once more confirmed he and ‘Ye wouldn’t be making up anytime soon and blamed him for why he and Pusha T feuded in 2018.

“He can tell whoever, ‘You know I got love for him’ but that’s not love,” Drake told Elliott Wilson at the time. “There’s something there that bothers him deeply. I can’t fix it for him, it is what it is. I can never turn my back on the things I’ve said about him in a positive light and I still feel those things.”

With both albums being held up, fans have also agreed with Consequence’s belief both albums should arrive on the same day to let the consumer decide. Even though the cold war between the two still exists for many, former music journalist/music manager proclaimed the two were on better terms.
