The worlds of Hip Hop and wrestling are about to collide. On Wednesday (July 7), Rolling Loud unveiled a new partnership with WWE that will bring SmackDown wrestling to their 2021 Miami Rolling Loud festival on July 23.
The partnership marks the first collaboration between wrestling and a major music festival. The July 23 edition of SmackDown will feature a split FOX broadcast with two matches being held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami while the rest are going down at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
“What Matt Zingler, Tariq Cherif and the entire Rolling Loud team have built is spectacular,” said WWE senior vice president Scott Zanghellini, “We couldn’t think of a better partner to deliver such a unique WWE experience to fans during the July 23 edition of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.”
Fans of both Hip Hop and wrestling are going to be in paradise with entertaining matches happening alongside their favorite rappers taking the stage. Friday night’s performers include A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, 2020 HipHopDX Rapper of the Year Lil Baby and more.
