HipHopDX Premiere

Oakland-bred artist Tree Thomas is back again with yet another single but this time, he’s recruited childhood friend and NBA star Damian Lillard — also known as Dame D.O.L.L.A. — for  “Don’t Have To Call.”

Produced by Bay Area beatsmiths Macwaynebeatz and The Architekz, the cut combines R&B with a little Hip Hop flavor as well as a dash of bounce. During the track, Tree reminds an ex-lover that she no longer needs to check in with him and will regret letting him go.

“This song came from us both going through relationship problems at the same time,” Tree tells HipHopDX. “We both broke up with our girlfriends and were feeling the same thing in the end — they’re going to regret it (laughs).”

Dame, on the other hand, is full of bravado as he spits his verses.

“Nine out of 10, I just get whatever broad/48 hours and I be in whoever drawls,” he says with confidence.

The Portland Trail Blazer recently went bar-for-bar with fellow NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal, which Shaq confirmed was “just for fun.”
