The Ruff Ryders have been out of the spotlight for awhile and are possibly looking to make a return. But this is not the type of spotlight they are looking to be in at this particular time. Darrin Dean, CEO of Ruff Ryders, was arrested Thursday after police stopped the vehicle he was riding in and found a loaded handgun and 1 ½ kilos of cocaine after conducting a search.

It seems that the Palisades Parkway Police in New Jersey had pulled over the customized Chevrolet van driven by Jerry Gilbert of Brooklyn for a broken taillight. After the smell of marijuana hit the police, they called reinforcements to further investigate the situation.

Police then found a concealed trap door built into the rear wall of the van which held the cocaine and the gun. Both Dean and Gilbert were hit with drug and weapon charges and subsequently released on $342,000 bail on Friday. No statements from Dean or the Ruff Ryders camp have been submitted at this particular time.
