Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o shocked the crowd with a freestyle on The Jimmy Fallon Show on Monday (October 7) over a live instrumental from the revered Roots band.
Nyong’o name dropped JAY-Z, Beyoncé and her self-love book in the spontaneous session.
The 36-year-old thespian rapped under an alter ego, “Troublemaker as she spit, “Oh boy, that’s a dope beat, ok hold on. Troublemaker in the building heeey.”
She continued, “Much love to The Carters, Hov and Beyoncé/they always big me up in a big way/Hov said we made it got an Oscar for my part/Much love to Jimmy and The Roots cuz they hot.”

Nyong’o appeared to be just having fun with the freestyle while promoting her new movie Little Monsters. The Abe Forsythe directed-film is an Australian-American-British zombie comedy starring Nyong’o as Miss Caroline.
She also mentioned her upcoming book Sulwe dropping October 15. The novel follows a young girl who is the darkest person in her community. The child eventually gains self-confidence in her appearance.
