Khalid has officially announced a benefit concert for the city of El Paso following the mass shooting that left 22 people dead and 26 injured on Saturday (August 3).
The concert will take place at the Dan Haskins Center on the University of Texas at El Paso’s campus on September 1. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the El Paso Shooting Victim’s Fund and the El Paso Community Foundation.
TheSun City singer first expressed interest in organizing the benefit show last week in a pair of tweets where he offered his support and gratitude to the city of El Paso.
“Over the past few days, my mind and heart have been heavy. Hearing/seeing an act of terrorism happen so close to home, my family and my friends has been unbelievable and shocking,” Khalid wrote.

“I’m planning for a benefit concert later this month, all of the proceeds will go to the families affected by the shooting. Sending everyone my love and will keep you guys updated.”
The El Paso shooting has sparked a widespread conversation and has even prompted superstars like Rihana to speak out and call for President Donald Trump to intervene.
Details on the concert are available on The Great Khalid Foundation website here.
