New York, NY

British reggae mainstay Maxi Priest has teamed up with the inimitable Shaggy to drop the official video for “I’m Alright,” the first single from Priest’s upcoming album, It All Comes Back to Love.

Best known for such classic hits as “That Girl” and “Close To You,” Maxi Priest is the only British reggae act other than UB40 to earn an American Billboard number one hit.

With a distinctly pop reggae flavor, “I’m Alright” also has a dancehall style mix, which you can check out below.

“It’s always an honor and a pleasure working with Shaggy, my good friend and family,” Priest told HipHopDX exclusively. “Working on this video was a breath of fresh air. Sometimes you just have to go with your heart and your feelings, and that shines through in this video.”

Back in October of 2018, Shaggy told HipHopDX that he considers reggae music to be “revolutionary,” and a musical style that transcends generations.

“Reggae is everything. But, it is certainly revolutionary music. When you listen to the Bob Marleys, the Peter Toshs, there’s definitely that revolutionary type of vibe that comes with the music. But, you know, there’s also great love. The great thing about reggae music is, it’s got that life — it’s got that soul. It’s very relatable to people’s lives,” he said.

It All Comes Back To Love will be available for pre-order beginning August 2nd, and available on all streaming and physical outlets on August 30th.
