Yes, Nas is already a world renowned MC, Grammy Award-nominated artist, actor and co-founder of Mass Appeal Records, but now we can add author to his list of accomplishments.
On Thursday (June 13), the Queens-bred Hip Hop aficionado headed to Instagram where he announced he was releasing a children’s book called I Know I Can featuring illustrations from Michael Lukowski. He also revealed Mass Appeal was launching a new children’s brand, MAJR.
“@MassAppeal launches @MAJR our kids brand,” he wrote in the caption. “My first book is on the way.”
According to the MAJR website, the company is part of a series “empowering kids to be whatever they want to be when they grow up.”

Its mission statement reads: “Our mission is to inspire future generations through the creation of unique toys, apparel, and innovative learning tools. Major is here to reflect the diverse hues of both the modern family and popular culture, because education starts in the crib.”
I Know I Can is a reference to Nas’ 2003 song “I Can” from his God’s Son album. No release date for the book has been announced.
