Black Eyed Peas premiered their uplifting new single “Be Nice” featuring Snoop Dogg on Tuesday night (June 4) as part of NBC’s new songwriting competition series, Songland. BEP MC will.i.am was the guest recording artist on the particular episode.
Shot at a rollerskating rink, will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap spread nothing but positive vibes as they skate around the rink. Snoop hops in toward the end of the track and delivers his bars in his signature, smooth style.
“Snoop has been a friend and collaborator for nearly a decade,” will.i.am said in a statement obtained by HipHopDX. “From being a featured guest on ‘Songs About Girls’ to doing voice work for our Masters of The Sun augmented reality mobile app.
“Once I chose ‘Be Nice’ from Songland, I knew the Doggfather lending bars to the track was perfect, with the laid back positive vibe the Black Eyed Peas were going for.”

As explained in a press release, “Be Nice” was birthed after four songwriting contestants pitched their original material to will.i.am and the show’s panel of producers-mentors – Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean and Shane McAnally.
Three of the songwriters moved to the next stage and paired with one of the producers to work together in-studio to adjust to BEP’s style and sound. The winning song for the episode was “Be Nice,” the result of the creative collaboration between contestant Adam Friedman and Dean.
Friedman, Dean, will.i.am, McAnally and Tedder are credited as co-writers on the song.
Songland airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
