Los Angeles, CA

The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center is honoring Roc Nation artist Jay Park and other Asian Pacific Americans at an upcoming ceremony called The Party. Park will receive the Game Changer Award at the inaugural event, which is scheduled to take place at the City Market Social House in Los Angeles on May 18.

Other honorees include Grammy-nominated band Hiroshima, chef Helene An and Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of Asian Pacific Americans, the event is designed to begin the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Keystone Initiative and raise funds for a permanent installation in the Smithsonian.

Park is booked to perform at The Party, marking his first time on stage since teasing his retirement. Earlier this month, he caused a stir among his fanbase when he announced his plan to retire in a few years.
