The trailer is much more extensive than the footage released over a month ago, which showed Smith as Genie for the first time. It reveals more of the cinematography and tone of the film along with a better insight into the Genie and Aladdin’s bond.
The trailer rockets the viewer straight into the world of the classic Disney fairy tale. It features appearances by Mena Massoud as a young and cunning Aladdin, his pet monkey Abu, Naomi Scott as the beautiful Princess Jasmine and, of course, the flying magic carpet.
It seems the new trailer has Smith amped for the movie as he wrote about seeing the final version of the film on Tuesday (March 12).
“I just saw the finished version of #Aladdin!!” he wrote on Instagram. “IT IS FIRE I AM HYPED. I can’t wait for y’all to see it.”
Aladdin arrives in theaters on May 24. Until then, check out the trailer above.
