Things just keep growing darker for R. Kelly. Following his arrest on Wednesday (March 6) for unpaid child support, the embattled R&B star is facing more sexual abuse allegations.
According to CBS 2 Chicago, Kelly is under investigation for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old Detroit girl nearly two decades ago. Their sexual relationship reportedly continued over the next few years and she contracted herpes at 17. The woman, now 30, believes the sexually transmitted disease came from Kelly.
Detroit detectives are currently looking into allegations Kelly “engaged in sexual intercourse at an undisclosed hotel” in 2001.

CBS 2 Investigator Brad Edwards was told Kelly and the alleged victim had their initial sexual encounter at the Detroit hotel on December 30, 2001. The woman also told Edwards they had sex at a Detroit recording studio a few weeks later. She then visited Kelly at his Atlanta home for a four-year period and at some point contracted the disease.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig told Edwards, “We are eagerly waiting to speak to the alleged victim.”
It’s possible the case will be referred to the Wayne County prosecutor.

Kelly is buried in numerous sexual abuse allegations, which were brought into the limelight after Lifetime aired its damning Surviving R. Kelly series.

Late last month, he was arrested on 10 counts of criminal sexual abuse and was eventually able to post a $100,000 bond to get out of jail.
Earlier this week, CBS This Morning ran an explosive interview with Kelly, who vehemently denied any wrongdoing. In fact, he insisted this was nothing more than a smear campaign against him.
The Chi-Town native pleaded not guilty on all 10 counts. He currently sits behind bars at the Cook County Jail until he’s able to come up with the $161,633 he reportedly owes in back child support.
