Though it was originally reported that Juelz Santana was seeking a delayed start to his prison sentence to attend a taping of a Tyler Perry reunion, a source reached out to HipHopDX to clarify the reunion is not a Tyler Perry event.

Shooting at Tyler Perry studios on February 13, Santana will actually be attending the taping of Love&HipHopNewYork’s reunion. Perry, meanwhile, is currently touring Madea’sFarewell — which will be playing in Spartanburg, South Carolina that same day.

After pleading with a New Jersey federal judge to delay his 27-month prison sentence in order to spend time with family and — more importantly — attend a Tyler Perry Reunion shoot in Georgia, Juelz Santana caught a lucky break.

According to a report by The Blast, the judge granted the deferment on his surrender date, extending his freedom by 30 days as well as approving his travel. Juelz is now required to surrender to a Virginia prison before noon on February 28.

Originally set to begin his prison sentence on Wednesday (January 30), Dipset rhymer and reality TV star Juelz Santana is pleading with the court to grant him a one-month extension for — among other things — filming of a Tyler Perry reunion in Georgia.

According to documents obtained The Blast that seek an extension on his freedom and permission to travel, Santana is set to appear at the event as it pertains to Love & Hip Hop.

“It is crucial to his professional career that he be able to participate, and it will provide closure for him as he embarks on his term of imprisonment,” the document reads.

His team also allege that he was given short-notice by officials, and has yet to receive his prison paperwork. Aside from rubbing elbows with Perry, the extension would allow him to wrap up his personal affairs and spend some time with family before turning himself in.

Santana was sentenced to 27 months in prison this past December after attempting to bring a loaded gun on a flight leaving Newark Airport in March.
