It’s been a full two years since Ohio-turned-Cali rapper Jerreau stepped from out his former group Fly.Union’s shadow and released his debut album, Never How You Plan.

The past two years have culminated into a growth lesson for the lowkey, yet talented MC, and he’s back on the streaming scene with the release of a new single in “Multi” to premiere on HipHopDX.

“I’ve been working on sound and wanted to share some words to commemorate the 2nd birthday of Never How You Plan,” Jerreau exclusively tells HipHopDX. “The wind behind NHYP allowed me to perform and tour the nation, and travel the world. I have to live to create, I take time to find my voice. I can’t offer up anything I don’t believe in.”

The hardened jazz number reunites Jerreau with his Fly.Union producer, Jay Swifa, and boasts of clever lyrics of the past 730 days (“Mav [Carter] hit me on the text, said ‘Where the songs at?’/Nigga come with it/But they didn’t know I was this close to quittin’/Like Drake working with Quentin.”

So does the new song mean the NHYP follow-up has been solidified? That would be a soft maybe.

If you’re asking, if I’m working on music – yes,” Jerreau continued adding, “but, I don’t believe in ‘Coming Soon’ marketing.”
