Travis Scott was presented with a key to his hometown of Missouri City, Texas on Saturday (February 10). It was also announced that February 10 will officially be known as Travis Scott Day in Missouri City.
Scott received the honor from Mayor Allen Owen as part of the City’s 4th Annual Black History Month Celebration of Culture & Music.

“This place right here gave me all my ideas,” Scott said during his acceptance speech. “It’s still the driving focus of what I’m doing now in music and design and whatever I’m doing. I owe everything to this city … This like my first award and I cannot be more proud to get my first award ever in my hometown.”
Scott later took to the stage for an impromptu performance of his 2017 hit, “Butterfly Effect.”
