Atlanta, GA

Five-year-old Abryia Ellison was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot by an unknown shooter in April as she played in her bouncy castle. Big Boi heard the Georgia native’s tragic story and decided to reach out. The Outkast luminary, who owns Pitfall Kennels, gifted Ellison with a bulldog puppy that will be trained to be her service dog.

When asked what she wanted to name the dog, Ellison enthusiastically shouted out, “King!”

According to WSB Atlanta, Big Boi and his brother James have even agreed to take care of the animal’s vet care and anything else the puppy will need.

“There’s nothing like having a companion or a service dog, something therapeutic that you can love on, that can love back on you,” Daddy Fat Sacks told WSB. “She’s been through a lot and to see how strong she is now, that was just like ‘Oh my goodness.’ She’s definitely inspiring and it just touched our heart, so we’re just trying to do what we can do to help.”

Ellison just completed months of intense physical therapy and reportedly loved the service dogs that would visit the hospital.
